How can i give my self a manicure/pedicure?

Do you know of any sites that teach me how to do those cute small flowers? How can i give my self a manicure/pedicure?

Ladies, how do you give yourselfs the perfect pedicure?

What products do you use??Ladies, how do you give yourselfs the perfect pedicure?
1. Foot/body scrub to remove dead skin

2. Shape and file nails

3. base coat

4. Polish nails with any color you chose use two coats (Mayballine makes got nail polish) let dry for 3 minuets

5. Top coatLadies, how do you give yourselfs the perfect pedicure?
I always soak my feet in warm water with alittle babyoil then when I dry my feet I always take the towel and push the cuticles back gently, then i apply some vaseline around the outer edges of my nails, that way no polish gets on my toes (skin). Then I apply clear polish first, ten apply the white with a thin bristtle brush I get from the nail supply store. When I am done I apply top coat of nail dryer to it. also After nails have dried, spritz with a moisturizing oil like SolarSpeed spray. This sets your polish %26amp; moisturizes your cuticles. Then voila! You're done! looks great, I have alot of people ask where do I get my pedicures. i also get to practice I have 3 daughters and their friends too.
first, prep your nails by filing, buffing, moisturizing, and washing your hands.

Next, you want to use a base coat, like Sally Hansen Strong Nails Now!Nail Strengthener. Then add polish, by using thin layers of paint. I suggest Essie colors, because they are liquidy, but dries fast. Then, finish it off with a clear coat, like NYC clear polish, or OPI Rapid Dry Top Coat.

Lastly, fix mistakes by filling in chips with a dot of polish ovver the chip, then another clear coat
I use those finger dividers, a little piece of tape, and pink and white nail polish. I use the piece of tape at the tip of my toe nails. Paint the bottom part light pink, then allow it to dry like for 2-3 minutes then remove the tape and paint the top part white. It works great and your toes look awesome. Try it! (:

Is getting a pedicure really worth it?

I'm thinking about getting a pedicure... but it costs $30 and that's a lot of money. I was just wondering if anyone out there could give me some input as to whether it's really worth it. Thanks! Is getting a pedicure really worth it?
Pedicures are the best way to ensure you don't get ingrown toenails, fight odours, and keep your feet soft.

$30 is a little steep for a pedicure, but it's not as though you would do it more than once a month. In the winter, when you aren't wearing open-toed shoes, you could get away with one every two months instead.

The pedicure should entail as follows:

* a foot soak

* cleaning off old polish

* scraping under nails and around cuticles

* cutting and filing nails

* cutting cuticles

* buffing balls, heels, and sides

* paring any dead or dry skin

* polishing toenails

* applying a moisturizing cream to feet AS WELL AS legs

A pedicure is a great way to unwind for 45 minutes and some places even have massage chairs!

I'm not sure if you've heard the saying or not but ';a man can always tell if a woman takes care of herself by looking at her toenails';

Do it!! It's well worth it.Is getting a pedicure really worth it?
I love getting pedicures for the pampering portion of it. They massage your legs and feet and you get a warm soak. It is awesome. As for the ';look,'; it is so easy to do yourself.

All you need is a pumice stone, a really good cuticle pusher, and sharr cuticle nippers.

In the bath or at the end of the shower, pumice the hard parts of your foot. Everyone has different hard parts. Mine are on my heels, side of my big toes, and my pinkie toe. I also pumice the corners of each toe. Then use your great citicle pusher and push all of your cuticles back. Then nip the dead cuticles that you pushed back. Do a clear base coat, polish and topcoat and you have an awesome at home pedicure.

Other tips...dont file or cut your toenails in a ';rainbow'; shape. Make sure you can see the corners of each toenail so you dont get ingrowns...i get them all the time. Get a buffer for nails...they look like a nailfile with 3 or 4 sides that you buff your nails to make them smooth.
I think so =) I love getting manicures/pedicures when I have the extra money. It's nice to be pampered once in awhile. Plus, your feet will be so much smoother and prettier afterward =)

PS- $30 is about average for a pedicure.
Ya its not worth that much . Try another place that could be cheaper. You can paint your toenails by yourself. To get a french pedicure/manicure just put tape under the part that you want to be white and then paint it. It makes a perfect line and then just paint clear polish over it
YES!!! (=

i love to get pedicures. they are SO relaxing. you get to sit in a massage chair while someone compleatly pampers your feet/legs. most of the time they will have various magazines and tv. its one of my happy escape places(=

also you should be able to choose any color you want

30 is pretty normal where i come from-it usu. costs me that much but i usu. get a french pedi. w/o french it usu. is 25.

hope you decide to go for it!!!
i think so! it feels sooo good and it's relaxing!
pedicures are great i would never pay $30 but its a very relaxing experience... but make sure you know what your getting for $30 not just being ripped off.. does it include a massage, a honey leg wrap, anything special or is it a basic soak and paint? check before spending that much

Besides getting a pedicure, how can I make my feet soft?

I scrub them everyday with a foot file, I have a pumice stone in my shower and put lotion on them everyday and I still have dry winter feet. Help!Besides getting a pedicure, how can I make my feet soft?
If you have tried pumicing %26amp; the lotion and COTTON socks routine, check the fit of your shoes. If your foot is all bunched up, it encourages callouses, and may be drying your feet. Good luck and GOD bless.Besides getting a pedicure, how can I make my feet soft?
I read somewhere that every night when you go to bed, put Vaseline on both feet. Then put plastic bags around your feet to keep the Vaseline from rubbing off on your sheets during the night. In the morning, remove the Vaseline and shower as usual and your feet should be really, really smooth.
Get a good Foot cream, I use Arbonne internationals Herbal Foot cream. and get a foot tub, fill it with hot water, balt salts, and a couple pumps of a massage oil......I have dry feet as well and all these things have helped heal up my feet...Arbonne also has massage oild and bath salts
This is what I do. If you have a shower that has a bath bit in the bottom put the plug and and let you feet soak in the water while you have a shower. If you don't you can put a face washer over the drain and let the water build up that way. My feet are soft and no hard dry skin underneath my feet. I'm 26 and have been doing this for years.
Before you dry your feet when you get out of the shower, put baby oil on them. Then dry them off. Also try to wear socks and slippers, to keep your feet warm and protected from dry air. Works great for me.
Put body butter or some other very thick cream on your feet at night and wear socks to bed to keep it from getting on every thing.
I've heard to use aloe vera and vitamin E keeping it covered on your feet overnight. I know it works on burns and removes scars (It has worked for me many times) so maybe you could try that. Maybe I should, too.
soak them in water with skin so soft from avon for 15 minutes nightly, and then apply a thick cream on them before bed... is suggest bath and body works body butter.

  • How do I give myself a home pedicure?

What stuff do I need? How do I give myself a home pedicure?
I do this all the time and it works great!

    1. Get a big bowl of soapy water, you can even use shower gel, dish soap in it to make it soapy, soak your feet in it for about 5 minutes, both feet.

    2. While in the water use a foot stone to get all the dead skin off the bottom of your feet and around your toe nails, also use a small foot brush for your toe nails to make them extra clean.

    3. Towel dry your feet, put a heavy cream on your feet, Palmers Cocoa Butter works great!

    4. Make sure all the nail polish is off if you have any on, use toe nail polish remover on your toes with TP or a cotton ball to remove the cream on your toe nails.

    5. Clip toe nails if needed, paint them if you want too, use a really cute nail color, use nail decalls if you wanna, trust me it all works great!

Hope that helps! How do I give myself a home pedicure?
something to scrub ur feet with like bath salts or those rough brown sponges. Soak your feet for a bit. You also need a nail cutter, but the one for the feet because the fingernail one is not as strong. You can use a cuticle pusher to push down the cuticles. and get the nail polish you want to use along with clear top coat polish. Lotion up your feet after ur scrub and soak (johnson and johnson's shea and cocoa butter baby lotion is really nice and smells great)

    1) use nail polish remover to get rid of any old polish

    2) start with a base coat to put on your toenails

    3) put two coats of the polish you want. Let it dry a bit

4)then use a clear top coat polish and voila! pretty feet! ^_^
Just soak your feet in a pan of warm water or in the bathtub, put some olive oil in the water , then scrub feet good and rinse with hot and then cold water.

dry the feet, clip nails straight across, or file straight across.

put aloe vera of feet--good enuff.

U could massage the feet also...try reflexology

    http://www.reflexology.com
I gave myself one today. I use just some scotch tape and tape the tips of my toes. and i have pureICE SUper Star white nail poilsh 981 but you can use any kind of white polish, and then i have some clear, the Sally Hansen - hard as nails- and -hard as wraps- are really good clear top coatings. my friend has the nails one and i havet he wraps and my peticure has stayed on more and hasnt chipped. its easy.
A MAN and some relaxing music and a glass of wine !!!!!

Or , go to Wal-Mart and just get the kit it has everything you need to do it . But myself I would do what I told u to do first !!!!!

What can I tell my wife to force her to go get a pedicure?

she keeps saying we cant afford it, yada yada yada. Like money makes a difference we cant afford anything, and she works hard and deserves it. Be creative my usual lines are not working.

    PS

Plus she is also in a bad mood...What can I tell my wife to force her to go get a pedicure?
ha ha...tell her no sex until she does soething with them feet.....and getting a pedicure is sooo relaxing and realy not that expensiveWhat can I tell my wife to force her to go get a pedicure?
Buy her a gift certificate and wrap it up all pretty in a nice box with a pretty bow. Get a card to go with it and write on the card that you want her to have a special day because you love her and know how hard she has been working and that she deserves some alone time and time to relax and be treated like a princess.

If you have kids, you better offer to take them somewhere for the day too so she doesn't have to worry about them.

    Good Luck
Personally I hate people touching my feet, would she go for a manicure instead?

If she is in a bad mood take the kids out for a couple hours. What I like to do is take a long hot bath without the door being knocked on a million times by my kids or my husband, he is as bad as they are.
SIMPLE - you buy her a certificate from the local SALON so it is prepaid and even SET the appointment for her and she'll go. If you make it a special PRESENT from you - tied up in a box and ribbon and tell her it's for her B-day or early Xmas or anniversary or late mothers day or SOMETHING and it's all paid for etc - she'll go!
Buy her a gift certificate. That way she can't feel guilty spending the money. Better yet, give her a pedicure yourself. Make sure it includes a long foot massage with lotion.
Get her a gift certificate to a salon. She'll have no choice but to use the money there or it will go to waste (and wouldn't THAT be terrible?).
    Aw, sweet.

    SHow her this. ;)

If you walked into your nail salon and a guy was getting a pedicure, what would you do?

Would you talk to him about why he was here or if he is going to getting a color on his toes-ignore him-laugh about him--or reschedule your appointment. If you walked into your nail salon and a guy was getting a pedicure, what would you do?
I might talk to him if I knew him. If not I'd just give him a small smile and keep my appointment. If you walked into your nail salon and a guy was getting a pedicure, what would you do?
I think most people would think i'm just a really ugly woman, but my beard would probablly give it away

Be serious, y would you feel uncomforable or threatened by a man getting pedicure??
I'd be thankful that a guy cared enough about his appearance to get a pedicure. There was a time when you would never have seen men Doing the pedicures, but that's all changed now.
    i would do NOTHING lol

guys do that all the time now its not a big deal at all its nice

they are takeing care of themselves

i see it all the time.. its no big deal =]
that would be cool! i love guys who care about little things like that haha. i would rather them be doing that then having manky feet or whatever lol
its no big deal, i would do the same thing that i do when i see a woman getting a pedicure - nothing!
just walk past him........would do nothing

this is the matter of hygiene no one has right to judge or laugh at him just because of that!!!!!
    nothing... it's called HYGIENE
probably just ignore him. It's not a big deal. I see guys getting pedis all the time.
Nothing...I see this all the time at my nail salon......I just mind my own business.....men have nails too.....
    just act normal
I'd just smile to myself =)

What color pedicure should I get?

I'm 12 and getting ready to go a camp this July. I would like a fun, long-lasting color. Any color ideas or pattern ideas would be great! What color pedicure should I get?
    go with orange

my nails are orange and french manicured and i luv it!!! mine were done in a salon...so i really wouldn't do it yourself unless u hav experience

good luck! What color pedicure should I get?
I love bright colors! i would go with a neon pink! thats my favorite! bright green looks cool to! but its hard to find a green that doesnt take 5 layers of polish to actually show up. if you really want to stand out go with a different color on every nail. also you could give yourself a french manicure but instead of white do like blue or pink or something! if your looking for patterns try getting a nail set that does awesome patterns....its made by konad.. heres the link to their website... http://www.konadusa.com/gallery.htm i have one and its amazing everyone is always like omg who did your nails?! and im like i did! you might find one at the mall....thats where i got mine but im not sure if your mall has them or not. good luck and have fun at camp!
maybe pink with white polka dots

if it chips off it will just look like polka dots

if you use any colors like hot pink or red

bring some nail polish remover that stuff stains your nails

i would just take good care of them %26amp; use clear nail polish

that way you can always add another coat when it starts to peel
i wuld go with like a sky blue but more on the dark side, or like an orange or yellow, some summer colors, u can also do multiple colors like alternating toes
    bright, classic, bubblegum pink.

    its youthful and girly.
    GO with a bright ORANGE!!!

This is coming from me, a girl that has gotten millions of pedicuers, your family member's problem does not sound normal. It's never happend to me before, 'n I pray it never will. She should go to a Dr. and check it out cuse it sounds like it is infected and that is never good. She should get it checked out right away before it might get worst.
    you shouldnt bleed or crack

maybe the place your going to

    doesnt disinfect their tubs

    try a diffrent place
Suuuuuuuuure you're asking for another family member.

Seriously, they shouldn't. Sounds like she got some sort of bacteria or fungus from the session. Use fungicide, keep very clean, or visit your doctor. And do not ever go back to that place.

I do my own pedicures, I know where my stuff has been. Infections are very common when done professionally.
That doesn't sound normal. My feet never do that.
dry skin? make sure you use lotion afterwards

What are the different types of screws used in the making of pedicure, manicure & other beauty care instrument

Wouldn't the best thing to do be to buy some of these tools and examine them yourself? Obviously you don't want to make exact copies (patents) but at least you'd know where to start. Alternately, contact a company who distributes those type of things and talk to them.

-I gotta hand it to you, of the all the questions I 've seen on here, yours is definitely the oddest! Andf what an odd place to ask such a specific question

I 'm a guy getting a pedicure my first time what is the process?

I saw my old stylist today(have not seen in 2 yrs) since she was focusing on her family and she contacted me to come to her new salon. She cut my hair today and asked me if I would get a manicure and pedicure next time - I said sure. So I was wondering what is done. Should I wear flip flops when I go? Should I have a polish put on, if so what type?I 'm a guy getting a pedicure my first time what is the process?
you probably shouldnt get polish- itll make everything easier. because of that you wont have to wear flip flops. first youll soak your feet to make them soft. theyll clip the dead skin around the nail and buff the cuticles and dead skin off the soles of your feet. theyll also file and buff your nails so they look nice and shiny without polish. it should be like 20 minutes. If you do want polish, itll be more complicated. the polish will take an extra ten minutes, and then youll have to wait for them to dry (even tho theyll be dry you should still bring flip flops because they can smear for a long time afterwards). its up to you wether you want polish or not. have fun- pedicures can tickle but they also feel good. its nice to just relax for a while.

then i get a q-tip and dip one end into the nail polish remover and then with that i make the straight line.

and clean up the nail pilosh that went anywhere else.

ok if u need anymore help or anything u can always askk. :]

I do the dark manicure-- in other words, instead of white/beigish on the tips, I do a rich, lustrous Chanel black-- and a regular French pedicure. It looks very sexy, edgy, and modern, without being too Goth or ';out there';. Try it! I promise you'll get tons of people walking up to you, telling you it looks fabulous!

Also, wear open-toed sandals or platform cork wedges to show off your cute toes. I especially like lace-ups if you have nice ankles and legs, they're very sexy with a skirt.
They make little sticker guides you put on your nails to help you keep a straighter line, but they're a bit tricky to use. Just keep practicing, you'll get it eventually.
why dont you just go to get a mani-pedi that's what i do
Go to a nail salon and have them do it even if you just go a couple of times to watch their technique.

First think about yourself both mani %26amp; pedi are suppose to be about pampering yourself! you are going to need supplies from your local beauty store or a store like CVS,Rite aid. you need emery boards, buffer, finger bowl %26amp; pail for feet, orangewood stick, foot file or pumice stone ( for rough patches if you have any) ,toenail ,clipper, nail ,clippers, nail polish remover, brush, towels, cuticle softner, cottonballs, basecoat polish, color polish, top coat polish(if that is what u like) your favorite shower or bath gel.%26amp; a good moisturising lotion. the first thing is to get the warm water w/soap for your feet than the soapy water for your hands. have all your supplies together

because when u put your feet into the water u want to have everything u need. put your feet into the water and soak from 20 to 45 mns while your feet are soaking start on your hands. cut %26amp; shape all of your nails with emery board making them nice %26amp; smooth on edges after that then u soak %26amp; clean the nails. then do the same for your feet.using the foot file or pumice stone squeeze small amount of your shower gel onto stone or file and scrub

( if needed) than clean nails out using nail brush and orangewood stick getting any lose skin under nail ( Make sure u put a little bit of cotton on the end of stick to prevent being inguries. dry foot by foot than cut and file them. u may need to resoak them after that ( only for a min or 2) after that dry and use cuticle oil on cuticles rub into nail after that buff nails gently. nails should be glossy

then wipe excess off do this same step for your nails.

then apply base coat of polish ,then color( if desired) then top coat . hope this helps u out.How do I do a pedicure at home?
    Pedicure! My favorite pampering activity!

You can buy one of those fancy schmancy whirlpool type foot tubs, but really not necessary.

Soak your feet in a tub ( i use a dish tub) add any type of bath salts or even just epsom salt. Pat dry - leaving foot slightly damp and exfoliate with pumice stone or foot file. You can do this alone or with an exfoliating product ( I use The Body Shop Pumice Foot Scrub) Rinse well and soak some more. If you have really rough spots use the stone or file again. While your nails and cuticles are soft this is a good time to trim nails and push back cuticles. Dry feet and apply lotion. Paint your nails and after they dry you can apply nail decals - too cute!
Go buy a foot bath (Target/WalMart). You can also purchase the kit to do the footbath at home there too. The one that I have is Mary Kay. It works wonders!
Wash your feet, trim your toenails, clean the muck from under

the toenail (dead skin etc) put a nice layer of nail polish on,

decorating as desired. Manicures are similar, Other that washing

hands instead of feet (you CAN wash both), cliipping your finger-

nails instead of toenails (razor cuts are not recommended), and trimming the cuticles. If you're lucky you'll get a nice tip from yourself
dunno its much more relxing if you you get it done by someone else
Well if you don't have a kit grab some nail polish, nail polish romover, and a bowl and fill it with warm water and also get some lotion and anything else you would normally do for you nails and turn on some music and paint away and stick one of your hands in the water while the other one dries. And if you have little nail stickers you can put some on. Hope I helped a little. Vote me for best answer please!
i do my own pedicures and people look at me wierd when i do it and then when they see the outcome they ask how i do it soooo.... here u go

    u are going to need:

    scotch tape

    white nail polish

    clear nail polish

if u need to trim ur nails do so BEFORE u paint them, after wards make sure under ur toenails are clean then put the scotch tape on ur toe nails as to the thickness of the white line u want u want it small put the edge closer to the end of ur toenail vis versa if u want it thicker. apply two coats. then take the tape off thefirst foot u did cuz it will be drier. then apply a clear coat let it stand while u remove the tape of the opposite foot and apply a coat of clear while that foot dries apply another coat to the first foot and then after that do the other foot. let them dry now ur feet are done

do the same for a manicure
    1. Soak your feet in warm water, and add some bath salts if you want. Soak for 10 min.

    2. After or while soaking your feet you may want to scrub them with a pumice to get rid of dead skin on your feet.

    3. Then, take your feet out and dry them. Apply foot lotion to soften your feet.

    4. Trim toenails and gently file them.

    5. Apply cuticle remover and wait a few moments. Gently push back the cuticles of your toenails and trim with a cuticle cutter (you may not need cuticle remover if you've soaked your feet long enough).

    6. Apply your favorite nail polish and apply a second coat if you want to. You may want to use base coat before applying the nail polish and top coat after. Sometimes using a plastic toe divider helps with polish application.
    nail cutter
For a pedicure, get a foot bath which is a thing that you can put your feet and there is water in it. I have one and the water bubbles and it is pretty cool. Get lotions that you like that you can put on peoples' feet. Then also nail polish and you will be set.

because when u put your feet into the water u want to have everything u need. put your feet into the water and soak from 20 to 45 mns while your feet are soaking start on your hands. cut %26amp; shape all of your nails with emery board making them nice %26amp; smooth on edges after that then u soak %26amp; clean the nails. then do the same for your feet.using the foot file or pumice stone squeeze small amount of your shower gel onto stone or file and scrub

For a pedicure, get a foot bath which is a thing that you can put your feet and there is water in it. I have one and the water bubbles and it is pretty cool. Get lotions that you like that you can put on peoples' feet. Then also nail polish and you will be set.

Every summer one of my big toenail split. I get a pedicure every 2 weeks. What can I do?

when u get pedicure, tell them to file the edges of your nails not the top. they always file the flats of your nails and it weakens them . coat in sally hansen diamond hard nails before you put color over it. file nails dont clip.Every summer one of my big toenail split. I get a pedicure every 2 weeks. What can I do?
Every time you get a pedicure they buff down the nail causing it to become thinner and weaker. Plus with the fact of wearing flip flops or going to the beach or pool is making your nails more vulnerable to breaking.

Try not getting a pedicure (at least professionally) for at least a month. Get special clear nail polish that makes the nail stronger. That should help and maybe try giving yourself a non-buffed pedicure inbetween the professional pedicures.Every summer one of my big toenail split. I get a pedicure every 2 weeks. What can I do?
Make sure you don't have nail fungus. If the nail is yellow as well as split, it might be fungus. And you might have gotten it from unclean pedicure tools.

If you think you have fungus, please do not take any kind of Lamisil. It can severely damage your liver. When I got toenail fungus I put on Vicks VapoRub every night for a few months. That was two years ago and it never came back. You must first file off all the yellow nail, then wash it off with a good soap like Ivory. Every night before you go to bed just put on thin layer of the Vicks. And I'd change pedicure people...
Maybe you're getting pedicures too often, buffing nails will make them thinner,I go every 4 to 5 weeks. Try waiting a little longer in between.
you are getting pedicures to often
    ahh thats gross..

Can you get a pedicure if you have toenail fungus?

I think my big toe has a little toenail fungus but I really want my feet to look good for sandal season, what should I do that will work fast? Can you get a pedicure if you have toenail fungus?
Not only can you, but you SHOULD. Most reputable salons will, for free, apply fungal treatment under the nail polish. Many will encourage you to keep returning so that they can keep treating it. Mine for example cured a mild fungus I never knew I had. I thought that particular nail was just thicker than the others. The salon will be good for the nail providing that the nail is not trashed, not black, jagged or otherwise beyond the pale. For nails like that, you should see your doc or your podiatrist and have it treated professionally first. Can you get a pedicure if you have toenail fungus?
Yup-but if they speak Korean, Chinese or Vietnamese, they will talk BAD about you while theyre doing your toes in their language...lol...No, I'm serious!
This sounds like a very common problem with many people. Get a tube of Lamisil to treat nail fungal infection - it really works.
yea but the ppl would b grossed out!!!
I think that would be a little embarrasing to go there with the fungus on your toe, but I think they just scrape that stuff away...
put some tea tree oil on it everyday,if that don't work get something stronger
Go to your local nail salon and ask if they have a product called Varisi. It should be in a small, eyedrop-looking bottle. This product is not cheap (I paid $15 bucks for it), but it lasts a long time and is meant to promote healing/healthy nail growth and works very well. It's not a fast-fix, but if you really want your nail to grow back healthy, you'll hafta take the time to let it do so. Depending on how close to the cuticle that your fungus is, it could take a few months to heal in full.

Make sure that you are using a hydrogen peroxide solution on it once a day to keep the area clean. It's difficult for this area to heal on its own because of the high level of germs that infest there. Twice a day (once after using the hydrogen perodixe solution and at one other time in the day), place one drop of Varisi on your cuticle and another under the nail.

When you get a pedicure, do they massage your feet?

I have never had a pedicure and I want to get one. I am 8 months pregnant and NEED a foot massage. It would also be very great to have someone else paint my toe nails! What is the price range for a pedicure? I am also working with a budget. Thanks! When you get a pedicure, do they massage your feet?
How funny. I got one when i was 8 months pregnant. I was actually almost due and i was ready for the kid to come out and i heard that it helps you go into labor. Let me tell you that is not true. But besides that yes when you get a pedi they will massage your feet and paint your toe nails. It is so relaxing. I went to a place and only paid $30 and it took like an hour. It is definatley worth it.When you get a pedicure, do they massage your feet?
    Yes
yes they massage your feet and paint your toes. i would find a place like a day spa that specializes in pregnant women. ask your ob they will know of a place. you need to be careful what muscles they relax or you could go into labor. you shouldn't have to pay more than $40
yeah. it feels really good. i would suggest french pedicure. it looks gorgeous. good luck with the baby! and the cost is around 30 bucks.
well a pedicure is great . yes they massage your feet. but the price range really depends on where you go. me and my mom just got one it was $14. and it turned out great . if u go ,dont pay more than $25 or its a rip off .
About $50.00 and up. But it sure is worth it. And the good pedicurists will massage your feet.
    YES...
depends on where your going. when u go 2 a salon u sit in these chairs that gives u bottom, back and neck massage. if they dont giv u massage then u hav your husband giv u a foot massage
OOHHH YYEEESSS!! most pedicures are about $30.00
Oh yeah...I would call around to your local salons. Where I live they definately base pricing on the area the spa is located.

    For callus, or cuticle removal, the best products I have used are called Cuticle Eliminator, and Callus Eliminator. These are mafe by a company called 'Be Natural.'; They also make a great lotion for your feet, but it can be used anywhere else on your body except for your face. Its called 'Dry Heel Eliminator.';

To finish up your mani/pedi with a great topcoat, nothing beats Seche Vite Fast Dry Topcoat. It has to be applied while the polish is still wet though, so remember that. Seche also makes some other great products as well, but their Topcoat is my favorite of them all:

BTW, the site that I used is only for reference. I'm not trying to advertise for them. In fact, I have never bought anything from this company. But, they had some pictures of the products I am referring to. Buy these products anywhere you choose. Its still the same thing, no matter where you buy it! • Is it okay to wear tennis shoes to a pedicure and change into flip flops afterwards?

Well, why wouldn't it? :)Is it okay to wear tennis shoes to a pedicure and change into flip flops afterwards?
yes of course! you can wear any sort of shoes you like prior to your pedicure, just be sure your feet are relatively clean and odorless as it makes the pedicurist's job much more pleasing! Always wear flip flops afterwards to let the nailpolish dry.Is it okay to wear tennis shoes to a pedicure and change into flip flops afterwards?
sure...you can wear whatever you feel like before you get a pedi but afterwards,if you don't want any smudges or mess up your freshly done pedicure so you should bring sandals or flip flops,to let them dry properly and also show them off to the world!
of course it is! that's the best thing to do so you don't mess your new toes up. You could always just go in your flip flops, that's the easiest way i suppose.
Why wouldn't it??? You could wear tennis shoes out of there if you wanted to (Your polish would just have to dry good first). But yes, changing into flops after wards is perfectly fine.
That's fine. Just as long as you wear flip flops after the pedicure to not ruin it.

Does anyone know the secret to doing a nice pedicure yourself?

I know that going to the salon it looks a lot better a more professional. I like to do my own feet but really they don't look as neat. I can pass sometimes with certain colors but sometimes it looks wack. I like the fact that my foot tools are not being used on thousands and thousands of different women. This would be great, as I am getting one tomorrow I think and need to know what I'm in for. I am a teenager if that helps, and I would like a design painted on my nails. My nails are in bad shape so that's why I am going in.Please thoroughly explain what they do during a manicure/pedicure?
I'm a nail technician, so for a manicure, they will sanitize your hands, shape them, soak your fingers, start with cleaning around the cuticles, make sure you want your cuticles snipped because if you don't, tell them. The more you snip your cuticles the more it will grow, they will also push them back, put cuticle oil, take away any dirt underneath the nails, polish the nail bed with a block buffer, and finally add the nail polish. Basically, the same goes for a pedicure, except they will scrub your foot with a foot buffer to take away any callus or excess skin. Before all that you should pick out a colour for nail polish, and if you want any designs such as stickers or jewellery studs..it usually costs more, and same goes for a french manicure. Your nails will look great afterwards!

I'm using 91% isopropyl alcohol to sanitize my pedicure tools. What will it kill? & How long can they soak?

that's not a very good sanitizer, and yes the alcohol will damage those handles over timeI'm using 91% isopropyl alcohol to sanitize my pedicure tools. What will it kill? %26amp; How long can they soak?
Yes, alcohol can damage the handles. If you are doing this for personal use, that's fine, but if it's professionally, it won't work or stand up to health dept. regulations.

I know it's not good to shave your legs before you go, because that opens you up to infection. But what if i were to do it tonight instead?

They're just a little nubby since I haven't shaved them for a few days. i mean, I don't necessarily have to shave them but I get a little embarassed if there's hair and they're massaging my legs.I'm thinking about going to get a pedicure tomorrow morning but i need to shave my legs?

I've never heard that you shouldn't shave before you get a pedicure. I've shaved that morning, hopped out of the shower, thrown on flip flops and shorts and gone to the salon. I've never once had an infection from a pedicure. If you are going to a reputable salon that is sanitary, none of it should matter. Shave, don't shave. The cosmetologists don't care. They are used to it either way.
ok if you shave them tonight that would be ok if you put a lotion on right after, in the morning and an hour before you have it done. hope this helps
who are you trying to impress. the nail lady? hair isnt gross. humans have hair. everybody knows that, so whats sooooo gross about a little stubble?
Just do it tonight. I have shaved the morning of before with no problem. Then again, I know how clean my salon is.
just wait till afterwards to shave

Thanks for your help. I just don't want to short anyone. How much to tip for manicure and pedicure? Color touch up?
General tip etiquette is 7% to 8% for a waitress or waiter, some places 10%.

For your beautician if you go to the same one regularly like I do then 10% is a fair tip when they do good work. So $3 or $4 would be fair. If they do exceptionally good work and do little extras then $5.

Now the other day I tipped only a $1 to this girl when I went because she was a new stylist and after I got done and she rang me up she tried to hand me a business card for if I knew anyone who was interested in purchasing insurance. I thought that was out of line especially while under the employ of someone else. How much to tip for manicure and pedicure? Color touch up?
Just to let you know... waiter/waitress tip etiquette is NOT 7, 8, or even 10%. If you leave that you're likely to get a pretty angry waiter. Generally they say 15%, but now it's getting to be more like 18%. Some places even require 18% for a big party...

The reason for a lot of screw up in the beauth industry is because folks think they can take a crash course and achieved what some of us call a profession. Take your wife to a professional. Otherwise, go ahead and play beauty shop.

Ped eggs are very popular in todays market. They are so easy to use and they are not messy like your traditional foot files. I have one, and so does my boyfriend. He loves it!

I came across an articles on ped egg, it's very useful. Have a read.

An Explanation Of How The Ped Egg Works

Most people have seen the Ped Egg infomercial on television, but like most infomercial products, it is hard to know if the products work. Hundreds of thousands of Ped Eggs have been sold, and many would call their experiences positive. Why do Ped Eggs work? Before you make a purchase, you should understand how the Ped Egg works.

The Ped Egg is specifically meant to help eliminate calluses and dead skin. According to the makers of the Ped Egg, ';It's like having a professional spa treatment right in your own home!'; The goal of anyone using the Ped Egg is to make the skin on his or her feet smooth and soft. How does this little plastic ';egg'; do that?

When you open the Ped Egg, the inside has micro-files - very tiny file-like pieces of metal that rub against your skin. This emery board gently buffs away the old, dead skin, while taking care not to hurt your feet. In fact, you can rub the Ped Egg over a balloon without bursting it.

On your feet, you will find that there is a protective layer of skin that builds up due to normal use of our feet. However, over time, this layer of skin builds up and your feet get rougher and rougher. Where your feet rub against your shoes, the skin builds up especially thick, and those spots are known as calluses. All of this rough skin is actually dead. So, when you are using the Ped Egg, you are just removing the dead skin. The smooth, pink skin that you see below is the new skin.

The Ped Egg itself looks kind of like a cheese grater. That sounds scary, but in actuality, it is not, since the Ped Egg only goes deep enough to scrape off the old, dead skin. The new and tender skin underneath is not damaged at all. However, the old skin is peeled away. That is why the Ped Egg has a catching device so that you avoid making a mess when you work on your feet.

If you want the Ped Egg to work to the best of its ability, it is important to use it regularly. The Ped Egg is something that you should use longer the first time you use it, since there are many layers of dead skin built up on your feet already. If you use a pumice or foot file, you might not have as much work to do, but it depends on your feet and your walking situation. After you use the Ped Egg for the first time, you will notice that in a few weeks, your feet are rough again. This is normal. The Ped Egg does not prevent your feet from getting rough. That simply happens naturally, no matter how well you care for your feet, unless you never walk, they will always get rough again. The Ped Egg is designed to fix this problem by removing that roughness.

Why would you want softer feet? Think of the benefits:

Your feet will appear prettier and more youthful. If you often wear sandals, sling backs, or open toed shoes, the Ped Egg can really help the appearance of your feet.

Using the Ped Egg will help your feet feel softer. This is definitely a plus if you and your partner enjoy giving and receiving foot massages!

The Ped Egg removes dead skin, so this is healthy for your skin. It is a better option than most other skin removal products that you can use at home.

How often should you use the Ped Egg? That all depends on your personal habits. For example, if you walk a lot at work or home, the dead skin on your feet might build up more quickly. However, if you use lotion on your feet every night, that might make your feet softer so that you don't have to use the Ped Egg as often. During the summer, your feet might need more work because you are wearing sandals more often; however, certain people need to use the Ped Egg less often simply because of genetics. How much you want to use it is totally up to you and might change from month to month.

Is the Ped Egg worth the money? Considering that you can purchase a Ped Egg for less than $20, including shipping, most people find it to be worth the money. With their micro-abrasive system, the Ped Egg is the perfect solution to rough, dull skin on your feet.

Can pedicure from a salon be a source of getting aids or hepatitis?

i want to go for a manicure and pedi cure but i am not sure whether it is safe or not?Can pedicure from a salon be a source of getting aids or hepatitis?
Both HIV/AIDS, and Hepatitis B %26amp; C are blood borne infectious diseases that can be passed by the use of contaminated instruments. Bring your own instruments so you don't have to use the ones available there. Make sure that the salon or spa has a certification from your State's Department of Health; it should be posted in plain view and have an expiration date. Show up unannounced and see how the place looks, if the employees wear gloves, disinfect all equipment, and if in doubt go to another place. Can pedicure from a salon be a source of getting aids or hepatitis?
you can only get aids or hepatitis from contact with bodily fluids. therefore common routes of infection would be during sex, particularly anal(greater amounts of blood vessels) sharing drug paraphernalia contaminated with blood, contact with blood through an open wound or into your eyes etc. you would not be at risk during a manicure %26amp; pedicure unless not only did you get cut , but your manicurist then bled over you. what are the odds!

Where can I get a decent pedicure in Los Angeles?

I'm so tired of going to the neighborhood nail boutiques to have a lousy pedicure. I have issues with my feet that need special attention, and I'm willing to pay extra to have a pedicure that meets my needs. Anyone know of a good place in the Hollywood/Silver Lake/Los Feliz area that you would recommend?Where can I get a decent pedicure in Los Angeles?
there is a nice parlour on Doheney Drive.. you may try that.. but the padicurist will be there just two days aweek.. you will need an appointment.. but she is the best....

You could always get an 8 gallon nano tank and set up a saltwater tank...buy a few pepermint shrimp. They will clean your hands better than any fish and it will be super cheap in the long run.

A Pedicure Razor? I wouldn't use that though, not good. What is the name of the pedicure tool used to clip the dead skin from the corner of your toes?
I think you mean the cuticle clippers. You can buy them in any drug store, but they do cost anywhere from $8-$15+.
i think cuticle clippers. Kinda similiar to nail clippers. Be careful they are sharp!!! OR try a pedi egg. They are cool!

What are the requirements of a pedicure?

i don't have the prettiest feet in the world. i am kinda embarressed to let someone work on my feet. do people who do pedicures ever get ugly feet people? explain how uglyWhat are the requirements of a pedicure?
Just do it. I think my feet are yucky too, but the nail techs have seen it all. Your feet probably look great compared to some of the feet they have seen. Last time I was at the pedicure spa I asked the nail tech if she had ever refused services to someone with gross feet... and she said, ';it's my job, no never.'; Also remember most nail techs work on commission. What are the requirements of a pedicure?
I have really dirty feat because I garden bare foot. I have a big toe nail that looks scarry not painted due to a surgery.

I still go once or twice a year. It's a few moments of embarassment but the rewards of getting soft and clean again are worth it.
    lol.

they do it for money, so no worries. They have seen it all, and prolly thei have seen worse.
dead skin like cracks, dirty nails, half done nail polish, dry feet ...
umh... like getting a toe without nails? it happened to 2 of my toes when i play sports... and out of vanity i still go for pedicure :)
Of course. If you have some problem with your toenails like fungus maybe you should see a podiatrist first.

How do you keep your pedicure fresh and free of recurring dead skin?

i love the feel of a pedicure but don't like that 2-3 weeks later the dead skin so carefully taken off has come back to haunt you and you become a spa slave... how can the returning skin be prevented? How do you keep your pedicure fresh and free of recurring dead skin?
use a pumice stone to keep the dead skin from returning - use every day. And moisturize. I like to use Burt's Bee's Lemon butter Cuticle cream on my cuticles, fingers and toes, and all the rough spots on my feet. Your skin will look as fresh as a baby's. Your feet will look so clean and soft you'll think you don't even walk on them! How do you keep your pedicure fresh and free of recurring dead skin?
Honestly, you should get a pedi every 4 weeks.
PEDICURE ONLY LASTS FOR A MONTH AT MOST...YOU CAN DO YOUR OWN AT HOME IF IT BOTHERS YOU IN BETWEEN THE TREAT OF HAVING THEM DONE.
Exfoliate and use a stone file and moisturize.
Well there really is not too much that you can do to make that dry skin from not returning, but there are a few products that will prolong the life of your pedicure. First thing is not to use any kind of razor. Your skin will only grow back faster. Some people have excessive callus and that is thier only relief. If it is necessary use the razor once and use a buffing pad (they come in different grits) a few times a week to help keep your feet smooth. Second is to use a skin softening product. There are alot but the one that I have had the most success with is called ';Soft Feet';. You can find it at Sally Beauty Supply for around $4. After your pedi this cream should be applied every day in the morning and at night. Just rememeber that a little will go along way. You should also use a little cuticle oil on your toes too. This will help keep your cuticles from drying out. Here's to happy feet!

Is it ok for a male to get a manicure and pedicure?

I know its looked down on by many men. But I do like my nails to look nice. lately I guess due to axiety I have bitten all of my nails and they look pretty bad. Sometimes I find myself bitting them and not even noticing at first. Are there any ways to stop bitting instead of the obvious answer just stop bitting them? Also I lately have been thinking if I do go to a nail shop to get my toes also done. No color or girly stuff just get them done and have them looking nice. I have no corns or anything but to me my nails look pretty bad. there no discoloration or anything just seriously need to be done. Should I been embarrased about getting them done? Also how much would a Pedicure and medicure cost together and seperate? Is it ok for a male to get a manicure and pedicure?
It sounds suspiciously sissy. Is it ok for a male to get a manicure and pedicure?
    r u gay?
yes be a man.men also do ballet.it wont minimise you and to hell with what others think or say.
Well, it's not wrong to do so. I love clean men. But, I wouldn't date or marry a guy who had manicures or pedicures. Like I said, I love clean men, but not metrosexuals.
i talked my finace into a pedicure. he loved it. It toes nail was so yuck and thick, He is from Texas and is not a gurly man.

They look neat and now i am not in danger of getting stabbed when he is baraefoot !lol
    sure if you're gay
defff ok, average manis are prolly 25 and pedis 35. and you should try bitter tasting polish omg you will stop trust me
i think manicures are fine, just so long as it's just a cleaning, any nail polish involved is crossing the straight line, pedicures are a different story, out of the question.
DUDE!!! There is NOTHING wrong with getting your manicure and pedicure..honestly..not all men..but a lot of men don't take care of there feet, and have some funky toes and nails..hey..at least you want them to look nice..don't you think the rich men do that too? Do you think they walk around with funky toes and nails? Of corse not!!! And so shouldn't you..if you have the cash..go for it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a man keeping himself groomed. Women do it too, why can't men?
unless u r too lazy or gay
ok go on its good to keep our body neat and clean
    Sure, whatever turns you on
men also like to have nice hands and feet its ok. pamper yourself but its not something you go bragging about.unless your gay
no, nothing wrong with men looking good. it's better than nasty nails. it shows you care about your appearance..which to a boss or a love interest..that is a good quality. go for it...look around, there may be a men's salon in your area where you'd be more comfy
without a doubt. it is one of life's simply pleasures. go for it.
Of course it's okay. I worked as a nail tech in college and I had several gentlemen who came in for manicures/pedicures. You want your hands and feet to look nice and you can't be expected to know how to do it yourself, right? Plus taking good care of yourself is good for you. Call and make an appointment for a slow time of day, usually Tuesdays or Mondays if the salon is open that day. Cost should be between 40.00 to 75.00 for both services. Some salons have men's packages that include facials, shaving, massages and other services, too.
No...iIknow lots of guys who get them done ,its totally normal, why should u feel embarassed for wanting to look good and polished...its attractive in a man...at least u take care of yourself...cost wise, it depends on were u go...dont go to a spa like Spa Utopia or anything(u will pay way to much)just go to a small place in your local mall or something....it'll cost aboy $25 each, but most have a deal for getting both done together...its worth it...have fun.
Whatever you like to do is ok I guess. As long as you really want to do it. Who cares what other people think? People can be wrong all at once and in one voice...why even bother with that?
    Go for it!
I'd say absoutely positively most certianly definetely get both a mani %26amp; pedi. I wish more mem cared about their groomimg that way. I usually do mine myself but if I had more time %26amp; $$$ I'd have mine done everyweek. TheBut ia'[j doi giel pros do a better job than I do,
People need ot get real. Just because you like to take care of yourself by no means means that you are gay. So I say...yeah defiantely go for it. Not only will it be more attractive but some women actually like men who show that they groom themselves properly. Oh and so you know getting a good pedicure is one of the best experiences you could have.
its ok.. u would love it !!..

    it has a nice feeling..

it doesnt mean ur gay..it shows u care 4 ur nail..n ur hygenic..

in my town.. my pedicure n medicure cost $9 - $15..

dey r great..i duno if tis price is cheap or not..
Don't know about the cost but they'll tell you over the phone. Personally, I think a man who gets manicures and especially pedicures, is the sexiest man alive!! Wow! @8=)
    I think it is fine
That is great it shows people that you take care of yourself. It all depends on where you go to get you mani and pedi done. Together around $45.oo.
dude, im a guy, and i get them once a month.. if anyone calls you gay for wanting a hot chick to massage your calve muscles and rub your feet, then they must not know what gay is all about, men, women, everyone wants to look nice, dont think about it, its nice, relaxing, and its just a good thing to do, you gotta take care of your feet.
    its ok
I don't know why you can't. I see men in the nail salons all of the time. If you enjoy it, have it done.
I dont think there is anything wrong with getting them done. My wife cuts my nails all the time, she likes doing it and it is one those things that women notice. So bent or straight, it doesn't matter good nails appeal to both sexes, so does good grooming for business meetings etc. Why the hell not, couldnt cost more than a $100 bucks...
yes go 4 it, it only means getting ur nails and toe nails prettied and fixed up, o big deal, dont let any sexist comments like ';u're not a man'; stop u
You bet!!! They feel great! There are salons for MEN that offer real services like this. Go for it!

What is a very good way for women to soften their feet without going for a pedicure?

You can do your feet at the end of your shower or bath. Buy a pumice stone from your local drug store or beauty supply store. I would also suggest you buy a body scrub or exfoliator. Use the stone wet on the more calloused areas of your feet and rub the tops and bottom of your feet with the scrub. I do my feet once or twice a week to keep everything in check until my monthly pedicure. I also moisturize with ';Bag Balm'; every day and rub the excess on my elbows. Keeps my feet looking good and I live in Las Vegas where sandals are almost year round footwear. What is a very good way for women to soften their feet without going for a pedicure?
soak your feet in some worm soapy water, i do this in the bathtub..

scrub your feet ( i use those fingernal hand things for the bathroom ) :D

get a pumic stone and rub it along the rough spots, and most likely you will need a great moisturizer for your feet.

just do this daily, or however you please, don't rub tooo hard, otherwise it will hurt. What is a very good way for women to soften their feet without going for a pedicure?
try using one of those apricot facial scrubs with the little granules in it. Then, slather vaseline or Bag Balm (in a green tin at the drug store and it's CHEAP), put on thick socks and sleep. They'll feel great in the morning.
    Lotion (cucumber melon)
Aveda Foot Cream works really good, and it smells good too!
Lather on the lotion, put on thick socks and go to bed. ;)
A 4x4 fine grit sanding block from the home improvement store, and Vaseline.
After you bathe or shower, slather some petroleum jelly (ie: Vaseline) or thick cream on your feet and cover them with socks. While you sleep your feet will soften. You'll notice in the morning. If you make it a habit, you will really notice a difference.

What can I use to soften feet for pedicure?

What product softens skin, Is there some sort of soak or lotion I should use? What can I use to soften feet for pedicure?
Start with 1 cup of warm water add 1 to 2 cups of oatmeal. I prefer using old fashioned rolled oats but the minute oats work fine as well. With your hand begin to mush up the oatmeal in the warm water. This will cause the warm water to turn extremely milky. Because it has begun pulling all the proteins out of the oatmeal that will help heal your feet.

Step 2 Next add 陆 cup Epsom salt. This will help get at those rough calluses. Mix the concoction one last time.

Step 3 Now the last of the power is in the soaking method. Add enough hot water to cover the souls of your feet. Make this water as hot as you can handle it. Sit back and relax.

Step 4 After about 5-15 minuets you can add as much hot water as you like. And now let your feet play in the oatmeal mush and rub the gently together while you let them soak. I recommend letting them soak for at least 20-30 minutes.

Step 5 You will instantly begin to feel the difference in your feet. For an added softener for those really tough feet. After you have toweled dried them rub them thoroughly with a light coating of vitamin E oil. You can find vitamin E oil at most retail and drug stores. Or you can use the inner vitamin E gel from inside a gel cap. But use caution not to poke or cut yourself while opening the cap. What can I use to soften feet for pedicure?
Use a ped egg or doctor schols its like a ped egg then after that put on foot lotion :)

    i hope this helps :)

What to do to avoid oxidation on blades (pedicure) tool?

They go bad just with a litter water! What to do to avoid oxidation on blades (pedicure) tool?
The only thing I can think of is to coat them with a little oil after use.

Olive Oil would be best as they're pedicure tools.

Any other tools and I would say to use 'WD40' or '3 in 1'.What to do to avoid oxidation on blades (pedicure) tool?
Oxidation is a result of oxygen attacking the metal(s). Several things could be happening. 1. the water Ph or chemestry could be attacking your tools

the soulution is to remove the oxidation, and seal your tools with say a spray sealant like silicone.

This is also a great chemical to use on a clean over to prevent baked on food, or on a clean and bleached shower area that is prone to mold, or mildew. Once clean, nothing can stick to it.

    Good luck
I am not an expert on the issue.. but commun sense dictates that you should keep it as dry as possible. Mosture and metals don't typically mix.

Also, that will largely depend on the amount and type of metal being used to manufacture the blades. Needless to say that products life shelp are designed purposely not to last too long. They have a name for that. They called it... ';Planned Obsolescence';. That is actually one of the lessons I learned while going to business school.

Finally, if you take good care of it keep it nice and dry it should last for a while. But remember, nothing is forever not even us.

Good luck and don't sweat too much the small details.

    Regards,

    Cesar
You can spray them with a silicone water repellent. I get it at NAPA and spray it on my tools to prevent rust.

$20What is the normal cost for a girl to get a manicure and pedicure? What can I expect to pay to have it done?
Depends some places a mani and pedi are like 30 for both others its like 50 where I go it is 30 for both!
Lowest prices that I have seen...manicure $10, pedicure $18. If you want french, then it costs more. I probably wouldn't pay more than $30 for a pedicure and $18 for a manicure.
A mani or pedi by themselves are usually $20-$25, unless you go to a high-end fancy place. If you get both, it will obviously be somewhere between $40 and $50. You will also need to tip the person who does it for you, assuming they aren't a jerk. Usually I tip about $5. I usually don't pay past $55. Also, be careful with manicures. If you get fake tips, they ruin your nails for a long time unless you keep getting it redone.

my big toenails are so brittle they peel. would a silk wrap be beneficial if i want to get a french pedi?Could you get a silk wrap put on your toenails during a pedicure?
If you have a qualified nail tech, it is possible. It will help to strengthen them and add length for a french pedi. You may be able to find a silk wrap kit for toes at a beauty supply store. Another idea would be to get acrylics, if you like them, on the big toes. Either way, they'll need maintenance and if you're interested in doing two toenails it shouldn't be too expensive too add that to the pedi. Hope it works out.Could you get a silk wrap put on your toenails during a pedicure?

Can you get HIV/AIDS from a scissor used when getting a pedicure at a salon?

    Hi,

Today I got a pedicure and by accident she pinched me with the scissor. It bled for like 2 seconds, but then she put a substance that contained some kind of disinfectant.

After about 10 hours of the pedicure, I got a light fever, 99 degrees Fahrenheit/37.4 degrees Celsius.

Could this be a threat? I'm like, pooping my pants of fear right now. What are the symptoms? Can you get HIV/AIDS from a scissor used when getting a pedicure at a salon?
HIV is actually pretty hard to transmit through means like this. The only reason injection drug users get it is because they pull blood into the needle to make sure they got a vein, inject, and then pass it on immediately to the next person. In order to get HIV from the scissors she would have had to stab someone who's HIV+ first and then immediately stab you! Since there wasn't any blood on the scissors, you're ok.

You're much more likely to get athlete's foot from a pedicure! Can you get HIV/AIDS from a scissor used when getting a pedicure at a salon?
You would not have any symptoms of HIV infection for about 2 more weeks even if you were infected. Also, they are supposed to place all of their tools in a container you can see that is filled with (usually a blue colored) anti-septic cleaner for just such situations, as well as lice control.
No-- not at all! The virus is killed instantly when it hits the air. The only reason it lives inside a needle is because it's air tight inside.

Also, you wouldn't notice any symptoms that fast at all. You might have the flu though!
Relax. HIV is not going to live on the scissors. It would be dead IF there was anything there. If you are really worried go get a HIV test done now and again after 3 months. Good Luck
relax cutie pie its just an infection put some nespourn on it and some peroxide and a few band aids later in a week it should be healed also cause of your light headache take some asprin
you.ll be fine......99 degrees is not a fever..........i know technically it is.........but if you were in the hospital, they wouldn.t even flinch at....

I suggest using a foot scrub. Ti tree foot spray is very refreshing too, so use that afterwards. Pumice works nicely to get dead skin off and any unwanted gunk. I would strongly advise Burts Bees Coconut Foot Cream. Follow the instructions on there for great results! Hope it works well for you!

How much does a french pedicure cost?

i want to get a french pedicure but i want to know how much it would cost! Like a simple one!How much does a french pedicure cost?
$10-20How much does a french pedicure cost?
it cost around 20$ but all you need to do is go to the store and buy a pedicure kit and do it yourself i do it all the time and if you wanna add detail, get a fine paintbrush and some polish and draw your own on. i like to paint pink tips on mine and cover with clear polish, it looks pretty awesome!:)
    probably around $20.

if you're looking for simple, you could probably do it yourself.

    that's what i do.
I live in Surrey B.C too

I go to Willowbrook. Usually costs around 40 to 50 bucks, depending on the style.
around 20$ it depends where you go though. spa's are alot more expensive and alot of different salons vary in there prices.
i am not sure how much it would cost by you... but around me it is about $30 dollars so it will proberably very about $10

    GOOD LUCK!
Depends on where you go. If you go to a cheapy nail place, about $25. If you go to a spa, about $70.

    I hope this helps!
    usually around 25-35 dollars.
um...im think it will cost around $15-$30
I think it can range around 15-30...kinda like what everyone else says

How can I do a pedicure that looks professional?

I always mess up and it gets all goopy and ew.How can I do a pedicure that looks professional?
make sure you have alot of time to do these and make sure you do it more than 2 hours before you go to sleep because your sheets can put wrinkles in the polish.

They always sell pedicure sets at drugstores that help you get the perfect pedi. It has like all the tools and stuff. I use one by Sally Hansen...and my friends also compliment me on my toes. =)
    For a french..you should buy a kit.

For a rergular pedicure, you should get a clear color and do 2 coatings of it before you put the color. After, just put another 2 coatings on top. ;]
    go to the nail salon
You have to really let the polish dry between coats and don't put shoes on. Choose a night when you are not busy and give a good 1/2 -3/4 hour between coats. Make sure you have soaked your feet first and pushed back the cuticles. If your toes are really close together put a cotton ball between each toe so not to ruin your polish. Make sure the last coat has time to dryenough before you go to bed.
Go to a nail salon and have a white french tip done they usually do not cost much :)
get a hot kiss pedicure kit and i did that for my prom and it totally worked. every one didnt believe me when i said that i did it. you can get hot kiss kits at target , walgreens, eckerd and all of them type of stores.
use a different nail polsih and make sur eit completely dry before touching or do anything

How can i make my feet soft without getting a pedicure?

i have been putting moisturizer on them but it doesn't seem to be working. i even have been using those weird rock like things to soften them...

    they're even peeling..

i don't put gobs of moisturizer on i just put on a bit, should i put on more?

what can i do to make them softer?

extra details:i don't wear flip flops a lot, i do let them get air at night and during the day. How can i make my feet soft without getting a pedicure?
I'm not sure what part of the county you live in, but if you have a drug store nearby, such as Walgreens or anything, they have something called the PedEgg, which I hear works GREAT! It's only about 6 dollars. Haven't tried it myself, but many friends have it and love itHow can i make my feet soft without getting a pedicure?
you can by a footpaddle from most salon and spa's they arent that expensive maybe 10-15 bucks i recommend the one by dannyco.the ones from the drugstores dont seem to work. soak your feet in warm-hot water for 10 - 15 min take one foot out and dry it off. wet the foot paddle go over your heal and ball of your foot with the rough side for a few minutes(feel with your hands until it feels smooth) then go over your entire bottom of your foot with the softer side . the helps to get rid of all the dead skin cells. which build up into calluses. then repeat on the other foot. when done get a foot moisturizer they are thicker then body moisturizers adn apply to your feet then wrap them up in saran wrap and put socks on. the saran wrap will keep the moisturizer from absorbing into your socks=more moisture for the feet!keep the saran on for as long as you like some people sleep with it on there feet. or they will sit and watch tv for an hour.
get vaseline and heavy socks and put them on your feet over night.

Also, they have pedicure booties that warm up, you can also use that with the vaseline and heavy socks.
Put vaseline on your feet at night (a thick layer of it) and put on thick socks that won't come off. After you wake up and wash it off, then try using a pumice stone or foot filer.
put vaseline on generously, then put socks on and go to bed you will be surprised how soft they are in the morning
foot soak. put some in ur bath tub and stick ur feet in. then put lotion rite after. dont use pumice stones so often. only once a week.

I have rough dry cracked feet should I get a pedicure?

You should if you're not skilled to do it yourself at home. I think it's really easy to adopt this simple procedure. I always pamper my feet at home, by soaking them, scrubbing with Freeman's Peppermint%26amp;Plum Creamy Pumice because it smells great, daily while in the shower. It's really just an extra minute or two, but very important. I sometimes use a fine foot file, too, or any sort of pumice. But the scrub and then the cream (I also use Freeman's Barefoot) is pure enjoyment. I can't stand any kind of socks overnight, but for a couple of hours, OK, and the effect is as good.

Try your own home pedicure and you'll get used to it and love the effect!I have rough dry cracked feet should I get a pedicure?
A pedicure will help soften your feet and make them feel much better, but its not going to completely get rid of the dryness and cracks. So if you want one go for it.
THERE IS A OIL YOU CAN GET AT WALMART CALLED CRACK CREME, IT REALLY WORKS IF USED EVERYDAY AND TRY USING A HEEL FILE DAILY TOO
A pedicure is a great start for this

    DO not use Vaseline.

This is 100% pure petroleum - and despite what everyone thinks this product is not effective with dry skin it hardens you instead of softening you - so find a good pumice stone

and make a scrub with olive oil, kosher salt, and soak feet and scrub - you can bring the stone in the shower and proceed with the stone.. after the shower apply only PURE and natural creams like an herbal foot cream (found at bed bath beyond) or a drug store - (I use Arbonne's)

If you keep on top of the pedicure in no time your feet should be better.. before bed soak feet with the scrub, apply cream and add socks -
try getting a foot spa. they remove the dead skin cells in your feet. then put moisturizers in your feet to get rid of the dryness.
yea that would be good. another remedy you can try is vaseline. put some vaseline on your feet over night and sleep with your socks on.
    of course,you should do that=)
yes u should go for it and after that daily use foot moisurizer.
NO look after own feet, first get rid of the rough skin

use a mixture of olive oil and sugar, rub your feet with a wet cloth or sponge, and then soak your feet in

baby oil. in no time you will have lovely soft feet, and you will have saved a few 拢拢拢 or$$$ or whatever your currency is
Believe it or not soaking your feet, applying lotion and keeping your socks on while you sleep, you could use paraffin wax as they use for rough hands, and last of all Avon has a great product just for feet Pedicure it exfoliates the dry skin. Best of luck Drink lots of water! And of course go for the pedicure, they are wonderful and the technician can identify any other problems, fungus etc. and soften your skin, treat yourself.
