It's really hard to contain your laughter. If you think you won't be able to keep from laughing then maybe you could ask the person to do it without the pumice stone?
Its really ticklish.

Can anyone help me out with a pedicure nail Salon product?

when the girls give you a pedicure what is the name of a product they put on your feet and legs and it kinda feels like sea salt on your legs, like little rocks rubbing into your feet and legs? i think it supposed to make it softer, it usually has a different smell depending on where you go.

if someone knows can i buy it at a store? Can anyone help me out with a pedicure nail Salon product?
foot rub i think? im not sure...

Would it be weird if I have a french manicure and regular pedicure?

Or is it better to have both french styled or both regular?

ThanksWould it be weird if I have a french manicure and regular pedicure?
It will look fine. A lot of people do a french manicure and a regular pedicure. I hope I helped. =DWould it be weird if I have a french manicure and regular pedicure?
It wouldn't be weird at all. Having a french manicure on your hands is classy. I sometimes like to do that and then have a pinkish color on my toes.
No I think is it weirder to have matching frenchs. Too matchy matchy. I like nails in a nice clean french and toes in super bright funky colours! That is best in my opinion
why would that be weird i do that all the time
no not at all. everyone does that all the time.
both french would look better but there your nails lol=]
No. That's what I've done
no, i've done it before it looks fine

but both french looks the best

I'd like to purchase a spa gift certificate for manicure and pedicure but they're trying to sell me a gratuity?

Is it customary to include a 20% gratuity?I'd like to purchase a spa gift certificate for manicure and pedicure but they're trying to sell me a gratuity?
I don't think so. The gratuity is based on service and only the person who gets the service can determine what type of tip they would like to leave. Sounds like they are just trying to make an extra buck without the customer service

How do I avoid getting a pedicure??

My boyfriend wants me to get a pedicure for a trip we're taking soon. The problem is I have toenail fungus and I know if I try to get one, the salon will turn me away. This would be very embarressing for me in front of him. So what can I tell him to get him off my back about the whole thing? How do I avoid getting a pedicure??
    Why not just be honest?

Is you boyfriend so shallow that he would leave you because of your foot condition?

Are you so shallow that you cannot tell him about your problem?

If this is a problem, what else will crop up during your relationship?

I am sorry to be so abrupt, but I hope this opens your eyes to how silly this really is. You have a minor medical condition. Tell him, and then decide what to do. Whether to get the pedicure, or to do it yourself... etc..

I have friends who pick each other's pimples... married and some who are just dating. This is part of a close relationship where the flaws a person has are revealed. Also, this will help to sort out whether your relationship is purely physical or if there is more behind it than looks, foot fungus or other issues...

    Hope this helps...

Have a nice day..How do I avoid getting a pedicure??
first of all, I would talk to a doctor and get a prescription for the toenail fungus. if it's in your nail, you need a prescription. then, just give yourself a pedicure and paint your nails a deep color and your boyfriend will be none the wise. make sure you slough your feet smooth with a pumice stone. it may take you a couple of hours soaking in hot water and scrubbing if your feet are really rough. just settle down and do it in front of a lifetime movie.
if you have a proper pedicure like the scholl shop its not a prob
do a good job yourself... it's a guy, he won't know the difference.
tell him how u feel............... or just go 2 the salon ...........
    Do it yourself.
Are you sure that the salon will turn you away?

Have you seen a doctor for this?

This is embarrassing. It's weird that your boyfriend would try to push this on you. Just tell him that you'll go on your own when you are ready.

Where can I get a cheap pedicure in Orlando before prom?

Anyone know a good place thats not over-priced in the orlando/metrowest/dr. phillips/millenia area? I just need a pedicure. I can do my fingers myself.Where can I get a cheap pedicure in Orlando before prom?
i think that um all pedicures are around the same price. ask you mom or some franns or something.Where can I get a cheap pedicure in Orlando before prom?
i don't live in orlando, so i can't tell you an exact place, but if you go in and ask for just the polish change you can get it for $10-$15!

Is there a simple and inexpensive pedicure you can make and do at home?

Yeah you can get a manicure and pedicure kit. It comes with nail polish pink and light pink and a white pen to do the tips. I one time bought Sally Hansen Manicure and Pedicure kit and i know its at a good price too. It works well too.

Went for my first pedicure, and they removed my toe hair, is that normal?

Sitting there, reading a magazine, felt something warm, and then a yank. Is it such a standard procedure that they don't even need to ask if you need that done?Went for my first pedicure, and they removed my toe hair, is that normal?
Hahaha, it probably depends on the shop you went to. They may just consider that part of the package. I mean, it's kind of embarassing to ask someone to wax your hairy toes, right? Did they give you a rundown of what was included in their pedicure package at all, or is it posted anywhere?Went for my first pedicure, and they removed my toe hair, is that normal?
When i do pedicure i will cut hair on toe but some don't want to cut too
Well, yes! Hot feet = hot nail polish = no HAIR.
well you shouldnt have hairy toes lol its good that they did it!

What are the steps to giving myself a home pedicure?

    Sorry, it's kinda long

THERE ARE times when we can't have our feet professionally done, because our budget just doesn't allow it. Here are the steps to getting that professional look at home.

    Checklist

    An hour to spare

    A towel

    A pan or pedi bath.

    Cotton

    Nail polish remover

    Top and base coat

    The desired nail colour

    Orangewood stick

Foot scrubber (a wooden device with a sand paper end)

    An exfoliating foot scrub

    Cuticle oil

    Toe separators

    Lotion

Nail clipper and cuticle trimmer (optional)

    Nail file and block buffer

    Step 1

Soak feet in warm water for three-five minutes Remove feet one at a time and towel blot. Use orangewood stick to remove/scrape any excess matter from the surface of the nail and push back the cuticle. For those who have a build-up of cuticle, use the cuticle trimmer to remove it. This is done by gently gliding the trimmer along the sides and top of the nail (cuticle) in the direction away from you, carefully removing the unwanted cuticle. Repeat the process with other foot.

    Step 2

Applying some pressure, scrub the bottom of your feet with the foot scrubber. Thoroughly and vigorously scrub the entire foot, this will stimulate blood circulation. You you can now apply the exfoliating scrub to the entire top side of the feet. The sand like particles in the scrub will remove the dead skin to reveal revitalised and rejuvenated skin. Make sure to scrub the back of the heel and the toes and in between the toes.

After doing the both feet you can now wash the scrub of and use the nail brush to remove any that may be left in the crevices of the nail. Rinse feet off with clean water and dry thoroughly.

    Step 3

Now that feet are dry, you can clip nails to desired length if necessary and then file them straight across, rounding them at the corner so as not leave any sharp edges to tear hoisery or scrape your sleeping partner. Buff nails with block buffer to smooth the nail surface and prepare for smooth application of polish.

    Step 4

Apply cuticle oil and rub into cuticles. Lotion feet and proceed to give yourself a mini-massage.

    Step 5

Put on toe separators and more importantly, dampen a piece of cotton and remove any oil left on the surface of the nail. If oil is left on the surface the nail, polish will chip quickly because it would not have adhered to the nail bed properly. On the clean surface apply the base coat lightly one foot at a time, then apply also a thin layer of the nail colour, by applying the polish sparingly it allows the polish to dry quickly. Apply a second coat of the nail colour allow to set and then apply the top coat to add sheen, seal and protect. Relax and allow nail polish to dry. It is advisable not wear stockings, socks or closed toe shoes until the following day as it still possible for nails to smudge at this time.

    Nail tips

To maintain the sheen and protect the polish from chipping, apply topcoat to the nail every three days.

If your nails are not strong, use a garlic base coat or a calcium base coat. If it is hard to find a garlic base coat, you can simply dice small pieces of garlic to your base coat.

If your cuticles after a while become dryish, just apply some cuticle oil; this also gives the nails freshly done look.

  • Has anyone ever been cut really during a pedicure?

I was cut really bad on the bottom of my foot. I couldn't walk good for about a week. Had to see the doctor, get a tetnus shot, etc. I always loved getting a pedicure because my heels are really dry. Now, I can't seem to be brave enough to go back to any salon.Has anyone ever been cut really during a pedicure?
I was told that those shaver things are illegal to use now! I would just let them do the massage and paint your nails and stuff and use one of those drugstore products that help get rid of calluses! Last time I got my nails done, she cut my cuticle really bad with just a nail file! It hurt :*( I decided to do my own nails from now on!!!Has anyone ever been cut really during a pedicure?
Time to find a new salon. How in the He!! did they cut you. You should have kicked whoever.
I have never been cut except a cuticle but during a manicure a new girl was filing the tops of my nails and she filed them real thin. I snatched my hand away and told her it hurt and she kept on doing it. I almost smacked a witch.
Go to a different nail salon this time, preferably a place that does ONLY nails instead of a place that does like hair and facials and stuff, that way you know they are all completely focused on JUST nails.Odds are you will not get cut again.
love pedicures - what were they doing that would cause a cut like that?
Never been cut but the have filled (buffed) the bottom of my heal so much that later that day I couldn't stand on my foot. That pain lasts quite a while so I can emphasis with you. I just asked for another pedicurists the next time I went and asked her to make sure that the callus removal was not so severe.

The new girl was great and I LOVE pedicures.
it always scares me to get one. The speed with which they file nails makes me wonder if they ever miss. what if it's a new girl...etc.....that's just me being silly though.

Recently had a pedicure, can anyone tell me what kind of lotion this is?

My friend and I recently went to get a manicure/pedicure. While doing the pedicure, the salon used a green lotion on our legs that left a really tingly sensation afterwards. Then they slapped our legs (not hard) to stimulate circulation...I guess.

Does anyone know what type of lotion this is? I've tried Burts Bees Peppermint lotion but the tingle isn't quite the same. Thanks in advance!Recently had a pedicure, can anyone tell me what kind of lotion this is?
try looking up the ';creations'; line they are used often in spas for mani and pedis, they have all sorts of productsRecently had a pedicure, can anyone tell me what kind of lotion this is?
i think that it's some kind of lotion with aloe in it.

and if it's green stuff with little bumps in it then they wipe it off, it's something with jojoba exfoliating beads in it.

well, i hope this helps and good luck!

also, if you go back and get another pedi from that same place, ask them what lotion it is lol!

What is the difference between Pedicure and Medicure and how...?

How much does each cost to get them done?

Do you have to get them done together or not really?

I know this question is pretty stupid, but I'm a type of girl who has never really care about my feet that much. What is the difference between Pedicure and Medicure and how...?
A pedi is for your feet and a manicure (which I think ur talking about) is for your hands. You don't need to get them done at the same time, although people usually do since they want their hands and feet to match or just for the extra massage time.

The cost depends on where you live and what place you go to. Some nail places can charge $10 for a manicure and $12 for a pedicure plus tip (if you want to). The place I go to in L.A charges $14 for a manicure and $18 for a pedicure. If you want to go to a spa, they can run upwards to $50 each. What is the difference between Pedicure and Medicure and how...?
Pedicures are most expensive than Manicures, Pedi for the feet and Mani for the hand. The price range can vary depending on the spa or place you get it done. You do not have to get both done together.
I have never paid for a pedicure, I do my own feet. But a pedicure involves buffing off callouses, trimming toenails, lotioning and soaking your feet. It helps with foot circulation. It is especially important for people with diabetes to take care of their feet as part of their overall health.
the difference is manicure is for your hands and pedicure is for the feet.
    Pedicure - feet, $20 approx

    Manicure - hands, $10 approx

You can get them done whenever you want - together or separate. Just make sure you get your hands and feet the same color! :-)
a pedicure is for the feet and manicure is for the hands no you do not have to get them done together it is probably going to cost you around 30 - 40 dollars you could call the place you want to have them done and ask them how much they charge everywhere is different and if you could find a beauty school near you they do it even cheaper especially waxings, colors and perms of course if you trust them to do it, i mean they have the teacher their to help them.
Pedicure is for the feet, Manicure is for the hands. No you don't have to get them done at the same time. The cost depends on where you go....there's no universally set price.
a manicure is your finger nails and a pedicure is your tonails you can get them done together but you dont have to and the price to get both done at the same time is $30-$80 depends where you go
a pedicure is for your toenails

a manicure is for your fingernails

the cost to get them done could be free (you can buy do-it-yourself kits) and anywhere to $100+.

but generally, you can get a good one (my favourites are small, japanese salons) for $20 to $60.

you dont have to get them done together, but you might as well if your going to be wearing flip flops and people might notice that your toenails dont match your fingernails..
You mean manicure right. Manicures are for your hands and pedicures are for your feet. I just do mine at home it is so easy.
okay, well a pedicure is for your feet and a manicure is for your hands....they paint your nails and usually they cost about the same. you can get them done at the same time you just have to call the salon or where ever or some salons do walk-in appointments
duh.. Pedicure for the feet and Medicure is for the hands.

cost depends on where you live call some place's look in the yellow pages

How to do a french pedicure?

I need several different ways to do a french pedicure. Because like I really want to do one on myself so please help. How to do a french pedicure?
Well, a few weeks ago, I went to a nail salon and learned how to do French nails (mani or pedi, it's the same way).

    You will need:

White nail polish, clear nail polish, very light (and thin) pink nail polish, nail polish remover, and an eyeliner brush (the flat edged one...).

How to do it: Paint the edges of your toes/fingers white. They don't have to be anywhere near perfect. It's bet to get at least 1/2 of the nail (just the top half, haha). Then, pour some nail polish remover into a small cup, or the lid, and dip your eyeliner brush into the remover. Use the brush to wipe away any nail polish that you don't want. Try to make the white edge a bit curved, not completely straight. Once that is dry, use the pink nail polish and go over the french manicure. JUST ONE COAT, or else it will take away from the white. Then, go over with clear to finish. It's really easy. Here's a youtube video with visual instructions. Good luck, have fun, and stay beautiful 鈾?br>

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SspXaFd--鈥?/a>How to do a french pedicure?
put tape on your nails tips a little bit down from the top of the nail to act as a guideline to where the white should be then paint the white above the tape, wait for it to dry then peel off if you cant make a perfect line
you put on paint very messy and a few coats- then get strong nail polish remover and a paint brush to shape the paint up to a french tip. then i would put on a few clear coats too.
you buy a kit and they give you instrutions
    i dont know

No way because i'm terrible doing massages and painting my toes! lol :) That and it might be kind weird to have two of me.

I am diabetic and I want to go and get a manicure and a pedicure. I live in Culver City,Los angeles either one?

I cant just go any where because of sanitary reasons.I also have to watch and make sure they dont cut me accidently because i dont heal well.Do you guyes know of any where that I could go where the people specialize in diabetics or are really careful and are willing to be carefull.I am diabetic and I want to go and get a manicure and a pedicure. I live in Culver City,Los angeles either one?
Honestly, as long as you go to a decent salon, you'll be fine!!

I've never ever been cut while having a manicure, and i;ve had some pretty nasty wounds from mountain biking, skiing, quad biking etc.

Just go to a good salon, and you'll be fine.

The most you'll get is a tiny little cut. They heal.

I had an 8 x 2'; gash on my thigh, that healed okay....

I'm sure a manicure will be fine.I am diabetic and I want to go and get a manicure and a pedicure. I live in Culver City,Los angeles either one?
Just go to a reputable salon and tell them to be very careful and use fresh instruments on you including new sand paper. I know of no salon who specializes in diabetic clients.
I would call ahead and tell them your diabetic [ DONT FORGET THAT PART].

Ask them if they can get someone who would be very careful and sanitary.

    File

    Finger nail polish

Dead skin rectegularprisim, or somthing like that

Foot Bucket for soaking your feet

    Foot Brush

    Soap
bahah i have one of those foot bath tubs too and it works like crap its a few years old and the ';massage'; aspect does not work.. anyhu when i give myself a pedicure i use this little black rectangular thing its like a pumic thing, and its really rough so it takes off a lot of dead skni.. of course u want a nail file and nail clippers and something pointy to take the dirt out of the nail and and exfoliating foot massage lotion... i use some peppermint thing that has exfoliating beads in it which also help take off dead skin, and i would suggest a foot cream for after teh pedicute, like a peppermint one.. usualy foot stuff is peppermint,

So basically the main thing to do is to scrub the bottom of ur foot with something rough like pumice

    Have a good pedi!

Why do they put hot wax on your feet after a pedicure?

I've never had a pedicure in a salon until today and I noticed that all the women got their feet dipped in hot wax. I declined this offer because it didn't seem sanitary. Ordinarily I would never go to a salon for a pedicure but the place I went to kept their instrument sanitary although I doubt they replace the wax very often. They certainly don't change it after every foot dip. Plus I heard about a woman who got herpes from having her lip waxed after a woman who had a herpes bump got her wax.

So what is the purpose of the wax dip?Why do they put hot wax on your feet after a pedicure?
it softens your foot and moisturizes it and soothes the inner workings. wonderful I tell you. It is Sanitary. They aren't dipping women with funginail in it! They have to keep their license. Why do they put hot wax on your feet after a pedicure?
    to soften the skin
It is suppose to help with the pain
U just gave me info.... Id sugest lookin it up on google..
    hair removal?
it is supposed to make your skin smoother and the heat of the wax is relaxing for your feet or hands.

  • How can i do manicure & pedicure at home using home based products?

    1) Begin by filling a tub/ bucket with WARM water. Add a tablespoon or two of Olive Oil to moisturize. Soak your feet/hands till the water gets cool. While your feet/hands are still soft and damp, use your fingers to push your cuticles back. Then use a stiff brush (nail brush/foot brush or even a clothes brush) on your feet to clean them well.

    2) Next use a toothpick to clean under and around your nails.

    3) Use a nail clipper to cut your nails and any bits of skin sticking out (hangnails)

    4) Use nail polish remover to remove any old nail polish.

    5) Use a pumice stone or emery board to smoothen the surfaces of your nails.

    6) Next, use transparent nailposh on your nails (as a base coat so that a darker colour nailpolish won't stain your nails and make them yellow)

    7) After letting it dry completely, apply a nice shade of nailposh.Let it dry.

    8) Finish of with another coat of transparent nailposh over your coloured nailposh to lock in the shine an color.

    9) Apply a nice scented lotion to your hands/feet.

    10) Wear an anklet/toe ring on your feet or rings and bracelets on your hands to make them look pretty and bring attention to your manicure/pedicure.

    Invest in a good home manicure/pedicure set with all the right intruments. (Nail file,emery board,nail brush,nail buffer,nail clipper,cuticle pusher,orange stick.toe seperators,base coat,top coat)

If your kit doesn't include all the above instruments, you might have to buy them seperatley, But don't panic. They're all very easily available and should even be sold at the same store.

These kits not expensive at all and you can easily buy them at your local general store/chemist.They are a super investment as you save lots of money on getting manicures/pedicures at a salon.

Have fun!! Hope this helped :)How can i do manicure %26amp; pedicure at home using home based products?
firstly, hot water therapy, clean ur fet regularly, apply body lotion regularly!!!! its more than enough , u need to follow it regularly without fail!!!!!!!!

What is the best way to give an at home, inexpensive Pedicure?

u dont need anything name brand for this unless your one of those people. but go to walmart (or similar store) and go down the isle with all the sprays and creams and makeup bags etc...... they have foot soak, scrub and lotions-that will do just fine. i got a revlons spa kit from the px as a gift (im sure you could get one similar elsewhere) and it has the spinning files and buffers. i use the spinning files for my cuticles. i could never grasp the idea of cutting them.

i never even had it done until my first manicure last month...still dont like the idea of cutting. What is the best way to give an at home, inexpensive Pedicure?
okay, marykay has this product line called satin hands girl it will work wonders on those toes take it from me i have used it for years and dont let its name fool you it should be called satin feet

    Oh you are SO right!

I'm so bored... and haven't done anything with anyone for pretty much weeks (cause everyone i know is gone and busy).

I wish there were 2 of me! Then we'd be able to help each other relax, and do random stuff together so things wouldn't be so boring.

    Oh I wish I had a twin :P

I have a brother.. but there's not a chance he'd ever agree to doing girly stuff.. or even watching a movie with me :(

Oh well. :(Do you wish that there was TWO of you so you could give YOURSELF a foot massage/pedicure?
I wish I could but I can not. You can buy a fiit massage at a beauty store like Ulta or a regualr store for not so much. You can go on the floor and paint your own nails. You can always ask someone to do it for you as long as they are clean and do not smell and do not have fungus on them.
    Omg!! yes!!!

i thought i was the only one who thought that but no!!!

I would like a clone.. but only feeling..not like feel the ';touching';part..

But ya its hard to explain.. anyways.

    your awsome!!! :]

If I got a pedicure, would it get rid of my dry, rough feet?

I have tried vaseline, lotions, and they don't seem to help me. I've even cut off some of the dry skin but it just comes back all dry and rough. Would a pedicure help my feet?If I got a pedicure, would it get rid of my dry, rough feet?
yes a pedicure will help, but you have to take extra care of your feet at homeIf I got a pedicure, would it get rid of my dry, rough feet?
Pedicures will help, but you will need a few of them if it's going to make your feet beautiful.

I would buy a pumic stone, some foot scrub ( like olays pedicure scrub) and a foot lotion ( foot lotion is diffrent than your regular lotion it moistorizes much more)

    and do it at home

...by the end of week two you should have asum feet and you would just be dieing to wear sandels to show them off.
If your feet are super dry a pedicure will help but not eliminate the problem. I use a pumice stone daily and rub lotion on my feet at least once a day to help keep them soft. I wear sandals a lot so they get pretty dried out...this usually helps :)
Absolutely. But you might have to have a pedicure at least once a month to keep them nice looking. My feet take a beating because of my cross country shoes and other athletic shoes. No matter how much I invest in a good pair of shoe /socks, my feet take a beating. A pedicure makes them nice for summer sandals.
Absouluterly buht even if you didnt get a pedicure u can still get rid of ur dry rough feet,

    Heres how,

After u take a shower or bath take a pumice stone and rub it under ur feet, this should exfoilate ur feet.

Then after that use a foot cream with natural ingredients which will moisturize it or you can try Olays Thermal Pedicure which will get ur feet sandal ready in a week! You just have to take good care of your feet.
Not permanantly, no. Start morsturizing w/ lotion daily. The word ';daily'; is the key. Even more than just in the morning. Maybe you shouldn't use lotions that have fragrance in them.
    yes, but not permanently.
They do work briefly on the soles of your feet. Once you are home, put cream on them that are made especially for the problem. You can find them in Wal-Mart very reasonably. At night before you go to bed slather it on your feet, put ziplock bags on your feet %26amp; then white socks. Do it till your feet have the result you want. If you don't like putting the bags on, just use the socks. I also find that the home parafin wax machine helps. You must be vigilant with all this for lasting results. You can also go to a podiatrist and he will give you a prescription for cream. I would try the home remedies first. I didn't think the prescription cream did anything special for me, but it may work for you.
if you go to a spa or a nail place....they will usually soak your feet, scrape off the dead skin, and scrub your feet. Then they will paint them. So yes, it can help.

When you get a pedicure do have them put acrylic on your toes?

and then make pretty little toe art on your toes too? When you get a pedicure do have them put acrylic on your toes?
No. Never done that . You like that? Just scrub and massage them

paint them and let me on my way. When you get a pedicure do have them put acrylic on your toes?
I've had then heaps before. You can chose really. You can have fake acrylics or you can have natural and choose your own nail polish from the store.

    Hope I helped!!

    xox
No. I get an American pedicure.
Nope, I just do my own. The artwork is cutsey though
Me know getty this done.... Poca lucky if Redcorn trim these more than once a month..
I have them paint them...then sometimes do a design and just add top coat.

When I get a Pedicure, what color of polish should I use?

I dont know what color of polish is popular. When I get a Pedicure, what color of polish should I use?
ok it depends on the season...we still have some snow here in CT so I'm using a lot of darker winter/fall colors on my clients...personal fave is OPI ';Lincoln Park After Dark';.....it depends on what the weather is like there if it's colder still and more winterish, go for a darker plum color or darker bronze color. if it's warmer there, then go for the silver/ hot pink or deep purple. I also love, love, love an aqua color! It's HOT! :)

While your there get your fingernails done too!!!!! Get tips! These colors can be done on toes too ! but try something diff.! Don't be like everyone, that's boring be unique!

Hot pink with black tips is HOT too! :) do a french manicure with hot pink on the base area and black or silver on the tips.!!! TOO HOT! or even the opposite...black with pink tip or silver tip...even a hot pink with the tip area diagonal stripes of dark purple/ royal blue and silver

Whatever color it is you will look sexy! When I get a Pedicure, what color of polish should I use?
The Color of the Month...Find this information on calendars. Each month of the year has a color associated with it...try using shade of that color tone.... Explore the possibilities....
    Pale colours.
it really depends on your age,, personally i love the color red it makes me feel sexy,,also try the color violet (any shade) it attracts a lot of attention and the dirt in your toes won't be noticeable..:)
It all depends on you, if you are in a bright and peppy mood I say Hot Pink nail polish. If your felling hot or you know you saw that really cute guy you liked staring at you go for Red nail polish. If anything don't get lime green, orange, yellow, blue, brown, or black! I hope this helps a little.
deep purples are really hot at the moment. but they have to be really really dark. and wat eva you get make sure its super shiny and buff :)
Who cares what's popular? Do what you feel, what you like. If you want more natural, try gold or something softer. If you want to do bold, try bright red or orange.

    Have fun! : )
I have always liked the french manicure.
Forget what's popular, what do YOU like? Be yourself and forget about what everyone else does. I paint my feet different colors when I feel like it...just because I like it.

    Be individual...GIRL POWER! lol
well everyones opinion is different, my fav colour is personally blue, but because it is spring i would use a light pink or lilac!
Bright pink is good... also pale colors and creamy colors are quite nice.

But personally, I think blue is a bold and beautiful choice ^^!

Whether it is a nice, creamy, pale blue or a glittery sky blue, it would look great!
Different colored french tips are in here in Cali. Make sure you take your own, so you don't get a fungus from theirs.
lite creamy colors are in for the spring
I would not worry about what color is popular. You are getting a pedicure for you and so you should wear colors you like. If you're conservative, wear pale pastels. If you like colors, you can wear reds, pinks and purples. If you are daring, wear primary colors. Don't limit yourself!

  • If I get a pedicure, and I get aides or hepatitis?

If I get a pedicure, and I have a cut on my foot, could putting my feet in the foot bath cause hepatitis? My Aunt said that you could get aides from getting a pedicure. If I get a pedicure, and I get aides or hepatitis?
did your aunt also tell you that you can get AIDS from a toilet seat, as well???

as long as the spa/salon is well maintained and hygienic (water is changed in front of you, tools are sterilized, etc), then you're fine. your aunt knows nothing. If I get a pedicure, and I get aides or hepatitis?
probably not HIV- the virus that causes AIDS, BUT

you can get HCV that way!

HCV is a blood borne disease. It can only be infectious in blood (up to four days even dried!) as long as it has somehow entered your direct bloodstream....like the cut you mention.

It can take one drop of blood to cause hcv infection- even as small as the blood you DON'T see with the naked eye!

I have observed many possible transmission methods in nail salons....even the ones who write your name on your own box of tools they store until your next visit!

I would say your chances are small, however, it does happen and if it happens just once it's too much!

HCV is very disabling....it is chronic and most folks do not know they have it until considerable amount of damage has been done to the liver as well as other organs.

If you want to know in detail, I can explain, but, simply put, you can LESSON the chance of infection if you buy your own kit at a salon.

EVERYONE has one risk factor for HCV! Get tested!
ya they clean those things out after each use. did you think you were putting your feet in the same water that the last person used? if you are really concerned about catching something then you should just stay at home. all the time.
the HIV virus does not live well outside of the body, if you go to a reputable salon, they should use clean foot baths, the hepatitis virus lives a little longer outside of the body, but unless someone was actively bleeding in the bath, it is really unlikely to catch it from a foot bath, actually even if they were the chances are still so small, as to be almost impossible. you aren't going to drink the water are you? if these virus's were that easy to catch don't you think that the infection rate would be much higher. i think you are pretty safe. they are mostly spread through unprotected sex and sharing needles.
First of all, it's AIDS, not aides. You can get hepatitis from an unwashed glass of water, ok? And why aren't you capable of cutting your own toe nails???

What exactly do they do?What exactly does a pedicure do?
Pedicures are the best...I went through Beauty School so I gotta tell you, upkeep on your feet at a youger age will prevent thick icky toe nails lateron in life...They feel good,When I went last summer I was trying to convince my son to go get one with me,He's 20 :) He said that would just make him gay... :) He was joking of coarse,So anyway maybe this summer ...They soak your feet, scrape of dead skin, which when they do the bottoms I start laughing everytime...It tickles, can't help it...oh and if I go with a friend I always laugh harder, kinda slide out of my chair so I try to think of something else as I bite my lip and try to sit still...that only lasts for a little bit, depends on your feet tho.they clean around your toes and file soak again and lotion and polish,if you want. Once you start going the trips are quicker because your feet are in better shape...Just go check it out relax and Enjoy...Oh and if they have the massage chair that you can sit in whilst you have your pedicure it's worth it If they do I give them a 20.00 and that's for everything... :)What exactly does a pedicure do?
#1. It feels great! #2. It makes your feet look great! #3. It makes you feel pampered!....
it cleans up your toenails, gets rid of all the dry skin and some massage your calves so they are nice and smooth
it kills your foot and will eventually lead to skin cancer
Make your feet look extra sexy...haha, but it also gets rid of dead skin cells so they are nice and smooth.
dont listen to the man above

they feel great! you relax with your feet hanging in warm water and they take the dead skin off with a hot rock thing (its feels so goodd!). then they massage your feet with lotion, and they put pretty nailpolish of your choice on!

How much do you tip?How much do you pay for a MANICURE and PEDICURE where you live?
It really depends where I go. If I want to go to a cheaper place where the service isn't great it would be about $25 plus a $3 tip. An upscale place here would be about $35 plus $5 tip.How much do you pay for a MANICURE and PEDICURE where you live?
I haven't gotten a pedicure done yet, but a manicure costs $15. I bit pricey, but they turn out perfectly =] I usually tip $1-3, depending on the service.
like 30 for spa peidcure and manicure. I tip 5 usually. I live in Rialto CA. but just in southern california it varies alot. My aunt is from San Diego, like 2 hours away and she says I pay a lot.

Where can I go to get a clean, sanitary pedicure?

I used to go to the asian place up the street from me and never picked anything up, but I was always scared to. I LOVE pedicures...does anybody know any place in Philadelphia or the surrounding areas that is sanitary? I really just worry about the tubs not being clean, but I noticed at the asian places they use the same nail files on everybody and don't clean the tubs out after.Where can I go to get a clean, sanitary pedicure?
All Nail salons/Salons are Sanitary,They HAVE to be Sanitary, If they aren't then they can be closed down...They probley do Clean it, You just don't see it.

Do legs have to be shaved when getting a pedicure?

Right now they are a little bit prickly, and I want to get a pedicure today. I know they massage the legs so that's why I ask. Is that ok or should they be completely shaved? Do they mind? thanks.Do legs have to be shaved when getting a pedicure?
no they dont. and i suggest that you dont shave them. heres why, i dont knwo if your getting a spa pedicure, if you are then they will use scrubs and lotions and if you have just shaved your legs then this might burn a little bit. so i reccomend going prickly. it might be awkward because you'll be thinking omg she is feeling my hair legs. but believe me it happens all the time to the manicurist.

have fun at your pedicure.Do legs have to be shaved when getting a pedicure?
LOL. They don't mind and I'm speaking from experience on that. I dreaded the same thing. I hadn't shaved in awhile but I was also overdue for a pedicure so I went while I was out without shaving. Surprisingly, it was the best leg massage I've ever had. She spent like 20 minutes just on the leg massages. Now I had to get over being uncomfortable because I was embarrassed at first but once I saw she was over it, so was I.

    Go for it!
I work at a salon, and I can honestly say, if you have good hygiene and are even semi-presentable, they could care less. They will usually rub your calf up to the knee, so if it makes you uncomfortable to be touched when you are not shaved, then you might want to. But those manicurists see so many people from all walks of life, they won't think a second about your unshaved legs.
haha i totally get how you feel. i found that it's nicer to shave your legs before you go because they won't say anything, but think about it- would you want to massage someone's legs when they are all sharp and prickly feeling? just do it out of consideration for them :)
You don't HAVE to, but it might be considerate to... it depends on how prickly they are.

After all, you're paying for it. If you don't feel like shaving your legs, by all means don't. They're touching feet all day anyways so I doubt they would care that much.
I shave my legs when I go get a pedicure because at the place where I go (or almost anywhere) they put lotion on your legs and rub it in and everything.

You don't have to, but you will feel less Self Conscious.
They touch your legs up to your knee. And it's not like they touch it for a second. They really rub your legs. I would shave them because I know for a fact that they are talking about your hairy legs to their co workers in vietnamese!
They shouldn't mind. It's not like they'll kick you out for having stubble. I get pedicures all the time without being totally smooth, and they don't seem to care.
i don't think that they'll care if your legs are prickly because they do like a million pedicures a year i'm sure they get all different kinds of people i'll bet they even do guys
erm if i was you i would but you dont have to

  • I feel like I have gross feet and would like to get a pedicure. Do people who give pedicures hate doing it?

With all summer ahead, I will be wearing sandals a lot and have a few weddings to go to this summer. I guess I'm feeling self-conscious about someone strange touching my feet. Is there anything I should know or do? It's not like my feet are disgusting, I just feel bad having somebody else take care of them.I feel like I have gross feet and would like to get a pedicure. Do people who give pedicures hate doing it?
    Don't feel bad about it!

Either it's their job to take care of your feet, or they even like doing it!

In these areas everything is full of nice smelling lotions and stuff and it's a great athmosphere.

I also needed my time to get into it, since I also think my feet are ugly, but now I love it, plus I already got my favourite pedi-girl, who's doin' my pedi everytime!

I've never had bad experiences except one time, when I slipped out of my shoes and my feet stunk soooo bad that I could smell them from my chair!!! It was so embarrassing!I feel like I have gross feet and would like to get a pedicure. Do people who give pedicures hate doing it?
dont worry about it. just go get it done, cos no matter how they feel about it, its gonna look and feel better. and hey, i dont think they can complain, after all their job's about perfecting people's feet no matter how it was like. i'm an assistant stylist, and the other day i had to wipe this model's feet cos of the photoshoot and omg...he must have the worst feet in the world, and if i could i would have given him a 30 mins foot spa and i wouldnt feel disgusted even one bit cos i would be satisfied with the results...so maybe those ppl who gives pedicures might feel the same. all they wanted to do was to get it right. so dont worry about it!!!
Don't feel bad....that is their profession and they chose to work on feet and hands.

You don't even have to talk to your pedicure lady/man if you don't want to. Usually they do not speak English anyway.

Please tip them though! That is what they like.

Nothing is better then a good pedicure , especially in the summer.
Don't feel too bad, their being payed for it!
If they didn't like doing it they would have a different job.
Who Cares. that is there job if they dont want to do it they shouldnt have that job.. I mean what ever your job is if you have one, if you didnt want to do it.. then you wouldnt dont feel badd.. its okayy..

-- Beware the ladys that do them

will talk bad about you in a different language..

they do that to me all the time. hahahha

    -- Relax.. its okayy. --

    %26lt;33333
i'm sure people have worse feet than you do. and if the people doing your nails are doing it for their job, they probly have no problem with it. also, it doesnt matter cuz they just talk to each other in tiwanese (if you go to Asian people which is 99% of nail salons) the whole time. the only thing is, i would make sure you have a woman do it because once i had a man do my toes and it was really awkward and i dont have any issues with other people doing my toes.
If you are worried about it then before you go use Olay body thermal pedicure and see how it works. If you don't need one after that go to the nail salon and just get your nails painted.
I love pedicures, even though its someone I don't know doing my nails I just be as polite as possible and make they always do a great job.
don't feel bad its their job. if ur paying them money to clean ur feet then u shouldn't feel bad
Don't feel bad, this is the pofession they have choosen to do, they know that not everyones feet will be perfect, it's their job to make it nice and pretty. They do like 100's of feet a day, don't wory too much about it, just make sure that you have a shower before you go or at least wash your feet and under your toenails so it's not dirty if you feel selfconcious. Just relax, it's really nice to have someone do all the hard work for you, they will give you a foot massage and they will paint your nails whatever colour you like. I've had it done before and it's really nice, they do a great job.
Honey, they have seen everything! It is thier job, they are probably used to getting feet sandal-readt for the summer!
Probably, but they deal with that everyday and they are getting paid for it so don't feel bad.
I always get pedicure.Think as of like this,if your feet is clean, most likely the person doing it will do a better job. What I mean by that is,if you feel embarassed, then try to avoid it,such as,don't go with to the salon with dirty socks, etc.

If they hate doing it,then THEY need to ask themselves why thet settled for that type of job.You are paying them for the service.

Do what you gotta do.Just take care of yourself for your own good and the nail techs will appreciate that as well.

What's the Best way to give a Pedicure??

I sit on the ground and my grandma sits in her chair while I work on her feet. It can get pretty uncomfortable.

Is there an easier way to do this?? (without buying one of those chairs they have at the salons of course)!?What's the Best way to give a Pedicure??

Is this a good price for a manicure, pedicure, hair and make-up for wedding?

I was just quoted $215.00 for this done at Roni Joseph salon in Vegas at the Stratosphere. Is this good, or do you know somewhere else that you would recommend? Is this a good price for a manicure, pedicure, hair and make-up for wedding?
That's a great price, but I would want to see their portfolio. I have had friends that have had troubles with the stylists at another Roni Joseph in the Valley, so I would be careful. See if you can get a trial run, or book it, do it, but be prepared to fix anything that doesn't look right. Is this a good price for a manicure, pedicure, hair and make-up for wedding?
Honey you better take that offer because you won't get any cheaper than that.
i think it was cheap because my girlfriend spend 1050 dolars for making up...
    YES
Thats a great price, especially in Vegas!!
    Great price
Hi. I think it is a good price, If you break it down you are paying very little for everything, less than 55.00 each. You can't even get a good up do for under 75.00. However I am not sure how great they are. Just because it is a good deal doesn't mean that it is a good price, you know? I would still check around, if it is the lowest price, you may not want to go with it just because it is the lowest. I know that sounds silly but it is your wedding, you should ask to see samples of photos of things they have done, make up wise and hair wise. I would also suggest a trial run, if you can a few days before, especially with the makeup. Just so you can see if you like it. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I just asked a question about getting polish when I get my next pedicure.?

I'm a guy and I just asked a question about getting polish when I get my next pedicure and eveyone responded that it would be gay. Why is it gay to get polish? Do only gay guys get polish? Or is it because doing things that are viewed as feminine are generally thought something that gay guys do because they like to be seen as more like a girl?I just asked a question about getting polish when I get my next pedicure.?
ive never seen any guy that has nail polish on but i think you would be taking a huge risk but a good risk too.

What is called when you receive a pedicure.....?

and they use a ';razor'; to slough away the dead skin on your heels, etc. I received one once and can't remember what it's called. I know one thing, it works better than any pumice or whatever else they use. What is called when you receive a pedicure.....?
Tracy they just ask me if I want to be ';cut'; or the blade.

You can actually buy one at the drug store in the pedicure section (feet/creams) and bring your own - many people are leery because of the blades - This is a great thing if your feet have a ton of dead skin, corns - they do my heels and big toe. What is called when you receive a pedicure.....?
is it called a 'toe-jammer'?/or ''culetellege'
I got that once too, and it was great. Unfortunatley, it's illegal in most places...

What is the difference between pedicure and medicure?

A pedicure is when your feet are cleaned and the toe nails are polished.

A medicure is when your feet are inspected for foot problems such as in grown nails, fungal infections, signs of skin cancer and other foot problems. Then your feet are soaked, dead skin is removed using a drill type instrument with sand paper at the end to smooth the feet. When that is complete your feet are massaged and toes polished. Your feet will be healthier then ever. The average medicure costs about 75-125 dollars. Some can be found for 30-40$.What is the difference between pedicure and medicure?
a pedicure is purely for looks

a medicure is more about health (So no pretty nail polish/hand cream/soaking in water infused with essential oils)

However, if you werre asking what the difference between a pedicure and a manicure were, a pedicure is for the feet while a manicure is for the handsWhat is the difference between pedicure and medicure?
A pedicure is a way to improve the appearance of the feet and their nails. It provides a similar service as a manicure

A manicure is a cosmetic beauty treatment for the fingernails and hands performed either at home or in a nail salon by a nail technician.
a pedicure is when they massage your feet and get rid of all the dead skin on your heels and polish your toes... A mANicure is a when they do same thing except it's your hands not feet... I don't know what a medicure is....
Pedicure is soaking ur feet in soapy water, cleaning it , messaging it etc.

The same procedure when done on your hands is manicure
Pedicure is removing of corns and trimming of toenails.
one is for feet and one is for hands , which one is for what i have no idea

How much is a manicure/pedicure in Orlando?

Average price of a manicure and pedicure together in Orlando? How much is a manicure/pedicure in Orlando?
Well, if I were you, I would just pick up the phone and call a few places in Orlando and see for myself how much a mani/pedi is. So, that's my answer...Call and find out.

How can I manicure and pedicure at home and make my hands and feet look beautiful, any tips ?

First you want to soak your hands or feet (plain water is fine, but I like to add a little lavender oil) for about five minutes. Dry them off. Clip and file your nails (file from side to center, not side to side - that can make your nails break) and push back your cuticles gently. A cuticle conditioner, available at most beauty supply stores, will help with this if your cuticles are overgrown or very tough. Next you can clip the cuticles (ONLY the white part that comes off when you push them, as this is dead skin. You can skip this part if you like, pushing cuticles is usually enough). After that put some lotion on your hands. Before you polish dap a little polish remover on your nails to remove the oils from your skin and the lotion. This helps the polish stay better. Always put on a clear coat first, just in case your polish will stain. Between mani/pedis, you can push back your cuticles with a towel after a shower (when your skin is soft) to keep them looking clean and neat. And when I don't wear polish, I make sure to buff my nails smooth to get rid of ridges. I'm sure any employee at any beauty supply store would be willing to help you with products. The essentials are the clippers, emory boards, and a cuticle pusher (use one made just for this, because I've cut myself up using other household items). Hope that's not too much to digest! Have fun primping! How can I manicure and pedicure at home and make my hands and feet look beautiful, any tips ?
Make sure that you clean your hands, cut your nails, file them. Straight across for toenails to avoid ingrowns and whatever you want for your fingers. Use nail varnish remover to take off any oil from your nails and for your feet buff them with a pumice stone etc. Apply moisturiser to hands and feet. Apply a basecoat. Wait to dry. Apply two coats of your desired colour making sure you've waited for it to dry and finish off with a topcoat.

Retouch the ends with polish and use a topcoat to keep your nails looking shiny.

Hope this helped. How can I manicure and pedicure at home and make my hands and feet look beautiful, any tips ?
Well you can get a mani and pedi homekit from a store and then rub lotion on your hands and feet to make them look silky and pretty
the key is to exfoliate the skin first on hands %26amp; feet. use a sugar or salt scrub on both, with warm water, to get the dead skin off. then clip the cuticles or hang nails you may have so that you start off w/ smooth hands %26amp; feet. then clip your nails nicely so that they're all even %26amp; file them to make them even more perfect. then polish as desired. simple.
well first get the nail polish you want, i donno if you want to use pink white, black or whatever. then take tape and put it on the tips of your fingers and pink the white part before that dries rip the tape off so it doesn't mess it up. then put nail polish on a q-tip and touch up the white part. then take your pink or orange and paint the rest of the nail, you can go over the white it helps keep it on longer. don't put too much of that pink or orange on it will fade the white. then you can do the little line right across under the white, i love to use black, this is really bad you have to be really steady to do this.

Thank You for all of you advice regarding the French Pedicure?

Wow, I had no idea that my question would generate such a response, all of which is ';don't do it!'; It really too bad because I think the french makes them look pretty. Maybe next time I'll just get the clear or the Bubble Bath. There's also one called Sweet Heart but that may be a bit too pinky.Thank You for all of you advice regarding the French Pedicure?

Hey man, I'm a guy, too, and I've wanted to get a French pedicure for a while now. I'm actually going today! I usually go to a place to get a regular pedicure (with either clear or no polish), but today I'm going to get the French! I'm a little nervous, but I agree - I think it makes nails look awesome! I want mine to look like that!

For those that go to church, is it a sin for guys to wear nail polish or to get a manicure/pedicure?

This is those for who go to church %26amp; so on. I'm wondering if it's a sin for guys to wear nail polish or to get a manicure/pedicure for your hands/feet? I noticed I saw it happen a lot of internet sites nowadays.

Thanks! For those that go to church, is it a sin for guys to wear nail polish or to get a manicure/pedicure?
Yes, that's a sin...but lipstick isn't.For those that go to church, is it a sin for guys to wear nail polish or to get a manicure/pedicure?
You need to be a good example to others and live a clean lifestyle. If trying to bring others into the faith, you must present a positive image, most men are uncomfortable with other men wearing nail polish. You must put them at ease when presenting the truth and appear wholesome. Anything that makes God look bad is sin.
It's only a sin if the guys trying to look feminine. If he isn't, then who cares? The Bible says it's a sin to dress as a woman, but there's nothing wrong with a guy liking a little TLC on his hands and nails. It's a bit more high-maintenance than usual, but rich guys have been doing it for years. I don't think God would have any problem with you pampering yourself a little.
Priests wear clear polish. Idk about their toenails.

You shouldn't do anything that brings attention to yourself at church.People should be giving their attention to God. I'm not saying it's a sin.. Don't expect to wear colored polish if you're a guy and not get talked about. Better not to give them anything to talk about.
Is may lead for others to sin seeing it and judging the ones who wear the nail polish et al.

The ones who had it may not even be aware of the sin he may cause to others.
There are plenty of people who go to church and commit many sins. Wearing nail polish is not a sin...male or female. Besides they should not judge you, lest they be judged.
you can get manicures pedicures because even my dad does that but you should not get them painted anything but clear
    no definetly not a sin!
well.........i dont think its a sin, like it might b 4 cathlics........but i am not one of them....but again y would u want to?????? its a lil gayish
    not a sin
why would you ware nail polish??????
    NO
No whats that got to do with God anyway? would be a bit sexist anyway!
i don't think its a sin... but it may lead 2 vanity which is one of the seven deadly sins.
