What do they do in average shops when you go in for a pedicure?

I want to get a professional pedicure but I'm not exactly sure what they do and how I could avoid getting an infection. What are the ususal steps a tech does when you get a pedicure and how long does it take? Can you bring your own products? What do they do in average shops when you go in for a pedicure?
I probably wouldnt be so concerned with the products that they are using versus the actual foot bath it self. Just inspect the water and tub area before putting feet in. Is there a soap scum ring or toe nail clippings in the tub or gunk around the drainage whole.

Good luck!!!What do they do in average shops when you go in for a pedicure?
no they use their own products and you should see them bring them sterilized to you...they soak scrub polish file push back and cut cuticles....polish massage with lotion...its nice and relaxing and it feels good....it takes about 45 minutes depending on if you are getting designs on your big toes or not...it last and if they do it right their is no pain....
i would not know the steps each place does there own order and also you can never know how long it takes might be from 1 to 2 hours and yes you can take your own things they will look at you strange i have done it befor and they just look at me funny but its worth it i think its dirty when they use the same thing for every one its best if you take your own things like the foot stone nail clippers..ect..not lotion you don't have to take stuff that they have in a container
i wouldn't worry about the products...if you go to a nice place they usually disinfect the tub and use sterile instruments (that come out of a package) i go to a place like that and it costs $28
They usually soak your feet with warm water, cut the cuticles, shape your toe nails, massage your forelegs with oil, put manicure on. Usually whole prosedure takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour..
